Tell me a secret

by Kay~Kacey on 11/3/2005

Okay, come tell me a little known secret about yourself. :secret: Something that most of the bloggers or your friends don’t know about you. Let’s get to know each other’s quirks or secrets. Just one, no use letting people think we’re crazy :crazy2: or neurotic…

RudolphOkay…I’m hopelessly obsessive about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. You know, the TV version of it? I can sing every word in every song. I have a set of stuffed Rudolph Characters from Build a Bear. I know what songs they cut from it for which remakes. I can remember when Yukon Cornelius found peppermint and figured out that was what he was looking for, not gold. I know the it’s HERMEY, not Herbie the Dentist. I wanted to name the kitties Rudolph and Clarice.

I watch it EVERY YEAR on TV. I try and pull the boys in and make them watch it with me. What’s up with them rolling their eyes 🙄 at me??? It’s a tradition.

I have Christmas ornaments that are characters from the show. And this year I saw a throw that has a scene from the show. I want it. I want it BAD. I’m dropping hints left and right. I might buy it myself. My Christmas cards this year are from the show. I have a Rudolph the Red Nose reindeer CLOCK, for pete’s sake. And they have to be “real” ones from the show. Not just any old Rudolph.

I know, I’m obsessive and hopeless about Rudolph. What can I say?

Okay, so tell us an obsession or secret about yourself! Go ahead…you know you want to… :secret:

Snoopy. I’m absolutely obsessed with accumulating more and more Snoopy stuff for my collection. And there is SO MUCH out there. I’m so bad that if I see something new in the store with Snoopy, I snatch it up, no matter the cost (well, I’m trying to be better about that!). My kids are always constantly on the look out for Snoopy. My co-workers tell me when they see something Snoopy in a store they’ve gone to. My family never has a shortage of Christmas gift ideas for me. 😀

God, a secret about me? I’m pretty out there already. Okay, I watch more tv than people would even imagine.

Kelly C. November 3, 2005 at 12:36 pm

I like to play video games. I started playing in grade school and it never faded. 😆

Kelly November 3, 2005 at 1:27 pm

I love sad country love songs. The more morose the better. I can’t get enough of them. And I’m definitely a rock chick, so country music isn’t my thing, but as soon as I hear something like Ghost in this House, or Monday Morning Church, or It’s Getting Better All the Time…it’s like I found my happy place. Sigh…this admission better not get me kicked out of the Pearl Jam fan club… 😳

I’m addicted to software :typing: Not that it’s really a secret :secret:!!, but I love software – I surf the net for shareware and freeware at least once a week, looking for neat new programmes to try out

Emma Sinclair November 3, 2005 at 2:13 pm

I don’t think the Rudolph thing is crazy at all. I’d be just like you if I didn’t have a husband to stop me.

As for a secret. Well, it’s probably not much of a secret, but I’m a huge nerd! I mean, a bigger nerd than most people probably realise. I mean, I got an atlas this year for my birthday and think it’s the best present ever! :book:

kacey November 3, 2005 at 2:32 pm

Oh! These are fun! Melissa…Snoopy, huh? My sister was obsessed with Snoopy for awhile.

Mary, I never would have pegged you for a TV watcher. At. All.

Kelly C…I can see you as a video player gal

Kelly…sad county songs, huh? Well, I’m a country music lover, so I won’t fault you there…My mother just shakes her head at me. For some reason she thinks listening to country music is wrong, wrong, wrong. And I’ve corrupted two of my boys…

Teresa…I love messing with new software and learning new computer stuff too. Secretly a geek I guess.

Emma…my dh wouldn’t dare stand in the way of my Rudolph obession. Besides, it makes me easy to buy for at Christmas time 😆

Katie November 4, 2005 at 11:34 am

Most of us intelligent people are country music aholics. Something about a hunky cowboy that can sing in tune…

My secret – I’m a disaster movie lover. The end of the world as we know it? Oh yeah! Blow up a few major continents! Create mutant bugs, the bigger the better! Killer storms, avalanches, earthquakes, and extinct monsters! I’m so there, baby. I heard some rumor of a Category Seven coming this weekend…can not wait.

Sharon November 4, 2005 at 11:53 am

Katie, I LOVE disaster movies. And OMG I no longer get networks waaahhhh I’ll have to call my sister and have her record cateogry 7 for me. Then I’ll watch it at THanksgiving when I go to her house.

I love all the volcano movies, (Dante’s Peak and Volcano) the killer asteroid/meteor movies (Armageddon and Deep Impact) Any freaky monster flicks like Lake Placid. Hmm let’s see, THe Core. ANY weather disaster movies no matter how bad lol. If it’s got hurricanes, tidal waves, tornadoes or freak blizzards Im there.

Steph T. November 4, 2005 at 12:26 pm

Katie – a girl after my own heart!! Did you see the Locust disaster movie that was on this summer! The absolute best in cheesy distaster movies.

My secret? I don’t think it’s much of a secret, but I could easily be a hermit. In fact, I might already be one…

Teresa November 4, 2005 at 9:19 pm

Fun secrets. My secret . . . hmm . . . let’s see.

I love guy movies. You know, This is Spinal Tap. Dumb and Dumber, those types of movies. I have a strange sense of humor.

Olga November 5, 2005 at 9:38 pm

I love roses. I used to collect postcards with roses, I did watercolors with roses, and now I have artificial roses all over the place. Not real ones. They die too soon.

Rene November 6, 2005 at 1:31 pm

I have no fun secrets. I wear orthotics in my shoes. I had to have them specially made by a podiatrist because my hips are built funny. If I go too long without them, I get shin splints.

Amy K November 6, 2005 at 3:51 pm

I can’t think of any fun secrets. I’m sure I have them but my mind is blank. I don’t like movies or TV. That’s not exactly fun but it shows what a loser I am. 😐

Danica November 8, 2005 at 2:16 am

I don’t know that I have any more secrets, since I pretty much bare all in blog land. The only secret I can think of is the location of my mint kit kat stash, and it’ll take a lot more than a blog to get me to reveal that one. But I might if the right gentleman showed up to persuade me…

Larissa November 9, 2005 at 6:06 pm

Oooh, I LOVE disaster movies! Dante’s Peak is one of my faves. Independence Day is, too. And I even watch The Day After Tomorrow a couple of times a year, even if it’s retarded. 🙄

But a secret? :secret: Hmm. I sometimes use the Playstation 2 as a babysitter for hours on end so I can get some writing done. I feel SO guilty, but after so many days of no writing time because my son is out of school for some reason, I need a break! :frown:

Michelle November 10, 2005 at 6:41 am

I don’t know if I have any…hmmm…maybe that I tried out for Jeopardy once (and didn’t make it). It was fun though. I had to answer 100 of the $800 (now $1600) questions in 100 different categories. Don’t know how I did, but you had to get 70% right or better, I think.
