A good mom

okay, so in a moment of weakness I said I’d bring a van full of 15 year old males to the lake for 3 days over spring break… I know, I know. But I thought I’d try to do a good mother imitations. Is it working??

I have no idea what time they finally went to bed last night. Maybe they’ll all sleep in late? Just please, hold out good thoughts for good weather… And somehow I don’t think they’ll think a trip to the outlet mall is good fun…

I found a Panera’s that has free wireless internet, so I slipped off “I’m going to go buy some bagels”, she lied. And I’m sitting here checking email, blog hopping…oh, someone remind me to buy the darn bagels before I leave!

Backstory

Stumbled across this site while blog hopping today. Interesting read. Authors are sharing where/why/how they got their ideas for their books. Give it a look.

I got the germ of an idea for one of my romantic suspsense books while visiting my sister who was staying at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. The halls wind and turn. The woodwork is gorgeous. It just seems the kind of place to have lots of hidden secrets…hidden rooms and passageways. It just screams of interesting history.

One book sprang out of reading about the flooding out of a town to make Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. They just moved an entire town of people out, and flooded the town. The secrets beneath that lake just wouldn’t let go of me.

So, where to you get your ideas?

Our Sweet Easter

So all over blogdom people are talking about their sweet Easter traditions. Egg hunts. Cute Easter clothes. Pink fluffy bunnies. Chocolate. Well, not to be outdone…we have a tradition here too. Poor Bunny

Yes, we hang a blow up Easter bunny from a tree and shoot Easter eggs at it with a sling shot. (well, last year it was a blow up Sponge Bob) They even blindfolded the poor bunny this year. For a special added bonus this year, we used a big powerful search light and shot the eggs at night. Yes, we have weird traditions here. But I’m the only one in the house who likes hard boiled eggs. So the males have invented this cool Easter game. I know! But what’s a mother to do??:?:

At least the deer liked us the next morning…who knew deer loved eggs?
