What’s in YOUR wallet…
by KaceyOkay, I don’t want to actually know what’s in your wallet. I want to know what sits on your desk beside your computer…

yep, that’s my always there stash. A glass saucer (of my grandmother’s) with some of my favorite rocks on it. I pick them up and fiddle with them when I’m thinking. A hand blown pen and ink well that my dh got me. Nice for writing out notes when I’m stuck. Really sexy to write with. And a glass paperweight with flowers inside that was my other grandmother’s. It always fascinated me when I was a little girl. Then my wheelo to play with just because
And my very hip pink and black reading glasses
So what’s sitting on your desk??

I really don’t use my desk anymore, pretty much a laptop girl. So, my laptop is on the kitchen counter next to my Kitchen-Aid mixer, my iPod, a bottle of hair detangler, a comb, a Dora the Explorer cd, Madonna cd, cell phone, phone book open to gopher exterminators and a variety of hair scrunchies.
I don’t use a desk either! Which means I have piles in various places of pens, pads, and various office supplies because basically I am attracted to office supplies some birds to shiny objects …
Crap, crap, and more crap. Mostly papers right now. Some pictures. 3 seashells, a river rock with “Create” carved into it…a Tom and Jerry DVD, and my entire collection of nail polish. (Don’t worry, I only own 3 bottles.
Let’s see, there’s also a suicidal plant my son gave me for mother’s day, a book, and half a dozen hairbands. For some reason, I take them out of my hair when I sit down.
Depends on where my laptop is sitting. If it’s on my desk, that’s actually pretty clean, LOL. But I have a shelf above my desk with a copy of each of my books to remind myself that I can do it!
A coffee mug, a flower pot filled with beans and silk flower pens, and pictures of the kids. Along with a lot of bills to be paid!
Stuff, stuff, stuff. Papers, reference books, pics taped on the wall by the monitor, sticky notes around the monitor, a cup of tea in my favorite mug, pens in my second-favorite mug, my mini-gargoyle collection, a cherub hugging a star (symbolic gift from a writer bud), headphones & a couple of mood music CDs, and like Suzanne, my books on a shelf to remind me that I can do this. Oh, and my mistle-toad hanging over the doorway. Plus a cat, usually.
Oh, man, let’s see… a box of Kleenex (the real deal!), my desk calendar of church bulletin bloopers, my checkbook, CD burner, external floppy drive, calculator, tape dispenser, stapler, the notebook I use for keeping my score on Jeopardy
, a coffee mug with a bunny on it that’s full of pens, markers, letter opener, scissors (for some strange reason I have 3 pair) & ruler, the tv/satellite receiver remote, stereo remote, my eyeglasses case, and a pack of index cards.
Pretty darn boring!
you know, I have much cooler stuff than you guys do!
You need some toys and some “thinkin’ things” to fiddle with!
LOL! I love this! I don’t think you really wanna know what’s on my desk though. Your stash looks incredibly impressive next to my scattering of books, papers, unopened mail, diet soda cans and kids’ drawings. ~sigh~
Love your site. Mind if I link you from my blog?
Brenda…notice I only took a picture of a tiny slice of my desk… The fun stuff
I’m not telling what’s on the rest of my desk…
And yes, Brenda, link away
the more the merrier!
Compared to the rest of you, my desk is BORING!!! Kleenex (not the real deal), books, scraps of paper, a mini tape recorder I haven’t used but I’m thinking about, bills to pay, post-it notes, and my ever-present cup of tea.
Hey, I forgot about my ever-present LARGE glass of Diet Coke!
What’s on my desk? My forehead because I’m pounding it on the wood because I can’t get my manuscript right!!:mad2:
I’ve got a stone frog (you know - SEALs/frogman -) and diet coke, gum and m&m’s (for when things get really bad.)
Notebooks, pens, post its, piles and piles of never ending paper, and at any given time an extra large bottle of Advil
Kacey–thanks for visiting my blog.
My desk has papers (from the two online courses I’m doing this month), pictures of my hero/heroine, a picture of the Alberta Rockies that a good friend gave me many years ago, Writing guidelines, GMC charts, RWA calander, post cards from where I lived in Scotland, Beatrix Potter birthday book, CD’s, picture of 3 bouncing pigs and a house by my daughter, a picture of me and my 3 year old daughter snorkelling off the GBR, a picture of me and my family with Uluru in the background.
Not bad. Needs cleaned!!!
PS. Agree on the soccer!
Oh wow…my desk is a disaster area. Snoopy stuff (mostly the Literary Ace persona), lots of books, paperwork, magazines, photographs, the list is endless.
I have a dirty plate (I just finsihed eating a pizza) three notebooks and a bunk of pens and highlighters. A glass of Diet vanilla Coke and a Goddess candle shelter. (To remind me that everythignis within my reach…if I want it)
