wine on the keyboard

a non writing post–really

by Kay~Kacey on 6/23/2005

so I indulged in a catch up on everything day. (after getting in a my new pages of course). I blog hopped. Did laundry. Cleaned my room and sorted through a bazillion foot high stack of “stuff and paper” ™ on my dresser. Dusted 😯 and other various boring things. (note to self: do not wear black tank top while dusty filthy rooms…)

Transfered most of the RWA mp3 workshops from 2004 National to my MP3 player. I wish…1) there was a good listing of the workshops on the CD…instead of the stupid PDF file that won’t let you copy and paste. 2) they had all the workshops in a big long list that you could just drag over into your Mp3 player, instead of two files of two different types…each in a different folder for each workshop. Anyway, I catalogued them into craft, publishing, career, etc. so they’d be easier to find on the mp3 player. Now I’m all set. I do hope they that Bill Stephens does a CD of all the workshops again for the conference this year.

But except for transfering the MP3’s….all of my to do list will just have to be done all over again in a very short time. Is “women’s work” :mad2: (okay, my dh helps around the house, but you know what I mean) always destined to be that way??

You’re so far ahead of me. Sometimes I think it’ll take me a year to catch up on everything. But good for you on getting through so much!

*sigh* I’m afraid so.

I wanted to move my workshop CD to my iPod but A) I’m iPodally challenged and don’t know how and B) the hubby complained about something similar to what you did…about the files or something. I dunno. I should though. I’ve only listened to a handful of them. Are there any that I MUST listen to tomorrow?

Yay on getting the files transferred! Hope you have a productive writing day today!

Amy, I’m trying to remember what I’ve listened to. Some good ones are:
Story Magic (2 hours) by Robin Perini on the craft CD 9-267.
Dialouge: It’s More then what you Say by Julia Quinn 9-321.
Suzanne McMinn’s 12 Easy Steps to Breaking In 9-360. (all of these on the craft CD). Suzanne’s is very motivating!

I just transferred over CD 2 & 3 so I haven’t listened to them yet. Have you listened to any good ones? Anyone else recommend a workshop to listen to?

Suzanne June 24, 2005 at 8:29 am

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work! I don’t even know HOW to use an mp3 player……

kacey June 24, 2005 at 8:50 am

Suzanne, that’s why I LIKE an MP3 player. Mine is Rio, so you just drag and drop tracks onto it. (though, I admit, the RWA CDs made this VERY difficult to do) But on the mp3 player, Mine are sorted into files, so you kind of just go to a file, and scroll through the titles…just like you would on a computer. Hit play or pause. Turn it back on, and you’re right back where you left off.

I’ve had a similar day. I went through some of the 65 pages I printed out so I could red pen them to death :coffee:; I find it much easier than editing on screen. then the dishes, feed and play with the baby (she gets jealous of the computer desk and will cry and wipe snot on my leg if I type for too long outside of her nap-times) and other generic housekeeping dulldrums. I unfortunately do NOT have a Husband who will help out:cursing:…not without extreme guilt trips, huffing, cussing and threats of sleeping on the aerobed:argue:, so count yourself extremely lucky!

Thanks for stoping by my blog and leaving comments!

I love being able to pop these wee fellows into the text…so much fun!!

I’ve heard neatness is very bad for your health (at least that’s what my husband told me.):mad2:

 the new background!!!

kacey June 24, 2005 at 5:41 pm

Lyvvie, welcome to my blog! Glad you hopped over.

Mary, I’m SURE that a neat house is a sign of…something …

Sylvia, I love the new background too. Subtle (at least on my scren) but not just the solid color.

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll be sure to hit those. I’ve heard lots of good stuff about Suzanne’s, and I did listen to Robin’s from the year before. I wonder how different it is?

I’ve only listened to about 5-6 of the workshops and I’m quite sure I couldn’t tell you what they were. They were that unremarkable. But I’ll let you know if I find some. (I think I started out listening to the spotlights, and those are so old now anyway, who cares?)
