having little to nothing to do with writing… well, except the shopping was for Reno…

I shopped this morning. I hate shopping. Seriously. I just did not get the shopping gene that women were supposed to get. I left early because a big department store was having a sale and opening at 8 am today. I shopped. I bought a few things. Couldn’t find anything that said BUY ME RIGHT NOW I’M PERFECT.

No shoes. None. Tried on a million pairs. But shoes for the conference have to be so comfortable. None were today.

So, let’s get serious. No one remembers even ONE OUTFIT that I wore last year. Recyle. That’s my motto. And I’m sticking to it…

So when you see me in Reno, go ahead and ask me…”Oh, Kacey, is that new??”

What do you drive? I drive a red minivan. My kids laugh at me because I say ALL I care about in a car is that it’s reliable and red. I can’t tell one car from another. They mostly look the same. Red. Or not red. Though I do plan on this being my last minivan. I think I’m finally getting to the stage of my life where I don’t need one anymore.

To pantyhose or not to pantyhose. An unnamed blogger AMY from Writeminded no I really can’t tell!! had an interesting discussion going on in her comments on pantyhose or not pantyhose in RENO. We think she’s going to take a survey in Reno So everyone make sure you check out Amy’s naked legs in Reno because the vote seemed to lean toward Just Say No to Pantyhose!

I work today and Monday at my pesky day job ™. Then I’m a free woman for Reno! Cannot wait. Have I mentioned that? I’m SO READY for a break this year. Even an exhausting break like RWA Nationl Convention!

So the proposal is all finished and printed up and addressed. A trip to the Post Office is on my to do list for tomorrow. I just love the feeling of mailing something off. Like another hope or dream sent out into the world. And I LOVE this book. Just love it. Love the characters. Love the setting. Love the plot

No more writing until after I get back from Reno. We’re crazy busy at work, and I have a million things to do at home too before I can leave. Oh, and quarterly payroll taxes are due at the end of the month, so need to get those done before I leave. And get everything organized for the 3 days I’ll miss work next week, since I’ll be leaving them short handed.

When am I going to have time to shop???? Everyone is talking about cute dresses and shoes and purses. I’m not even really a shopping person…but I would like at least one quick trip to the mall before I go…

I did get a new rolling tote bag. It will fit my laptop, and charger, mp3 player, book, wallet and some more carry on stuff. I get in WAY early on Wednesday. My choice was leave at the crack of dawn…and get into Reno like 10:30 am! or get in AFTER the literacy reception…which just was NOT an option. But that means there is a good chance I’ll have to haul my tote around for HOURS until I can check in. Hence the new rolling bag. Samsonite. 50% off gotta love a sale. Oh…and it’s RED, my favorite color.

I’m SO ready for RENO! (well, I’m not ready..haven’t packed, haven’t decide WHAT to pack…but you know what I mean! )
