More Hurricane

They got hit hard, didn’t they? :frown: So obviously we’re not headed out to New Orleans next week. Or anytime in the near future. But, I don’t care. I have a house, electricity, water, food. Seems silly to bitch about missing a vacation.

My dh lived in Slidell, LA and part of it is underwater.Have you seen the pictures of the collasped Twin Spans bridge? That’s the bridge from Slidell to New Orleans. We also had a farm out in the country from there in Picayune, MS and haven’t heard from our friends there or in Slidell. I’m hoping eventually they’ll get somewhere to check email or we’ll hear from them. Hold out good thoughts, please.

Further Seat Gank Education

okay, to further your seat gank education . . . (see yesterday’s post)

If you get out of your seat and say “seat check” or “spot back” it reserves your seat. I’m thinking of hanging a permanent “seat check” sign on my chair. What do you think?? :coffee:

Do your kids have any weird saying that you need a translator to figure out what they’re actually saying? My one son used to say f*cky feet. That was Frosted Flakes. Go figure :crazy2:

Hurricanes and Seat Ganks

So we’re supposed to go to New Orleans the week after Labor Day for a convention. Yes, the same one we were supposed to go to last year when they evacuated for hurricane Ivan. So…I suggest that no one plans a vacation to where ever I say I’m headed… And to you in the path of Hurricane Katrina, good luck and keep safe.

In other news…leather recliner Yes, we got a leather recliner for the dh this weekend. That means my new overstuffed chair is safe!

Though this whole two chair thing brought out an interesting lesson from my high schooler regarding “seat gank”. I just know I’m NOT getting OUT of MY CHAIR, ’cause I don’t want to be seat ganked :mad2:
