I LOVE January! I adore the cold and the gray. I’m the exact opposite of people who suffer from sunlight depravation depression. The SUN makes me grumpy!:cursing:

I’m with you and the January blahs.

Maybe it’s because it starts out on such a promising note – a new year, you know. New goals, now…other stuff.

But by mid Jan I’ve got the blahs. Isn’t odd how I hate snow, too but I’m really feeling the lack of it this year.

I never used to have a problem with January. But this year, it’s been different. I think it’s the weather – no snow and warm temps when we SHOULD be having LOTS of snow and cold temps. In a way, it’s nice not to have to freeze your tail off in the morning. But on the other hand, I like cold weather.

February is the month I could do without. Hunting season is still open in January. My birthday and my daughter’s birthday is in January close together so it’s always fun to celebrate those together. But by February, hunting season is over and it’s too cold to fish, so I impatiently wait for it to get warmer in March.

My post holiday funk usually starts about a week before the holidays. Before they even arrive I’m ready for them to be over. They just never seem to live up to the promised hype. By the time January rolls around, I’m ready to get back at it.

It’s not so much the January blahs for me, but I may not feel motivated to write on a story. I have to keep myself interested in my own writing because I have a short attention span. lol! So I throw a twist into the story that I will find exciting and see where it leads.

I’m not a big January person either. My mind is on the holidays, and then my birthday is in mid-January as well, so I don’t usually kick into gear til that passes!
