Almost Embarrassing

another glass of wineIf it weren’t bad enough that I bastardized a Larry & Bob saying in the last post….here I am posting another pic from RWA National. Yes, that’s me. With a glass of wine in my hand. Yes, drinking. Again. But notice that there is NO KEYBOARD anywhere near that glass of wine! Thanks Suzanne for that pic. I think…

In other news, my conference roomie, Michelle Willingham is back from Ireland. Yay! She is posting Ireland stories at her blog. Go check it out.

Shocked and slightly taken aback

Bastardizing a Veggie Tale Quote…”shocked and slightly taken aback”…(can you say bastard and Veggie Tales in the same sentence???) :coffee2:

Anyway…shocking news. I’m writing my new novel….wait for this :secret: OUT. OF. ORDER. Just writing the scenes as they come to me. My critique buddies are …well…shocked and slightly taken aback.

So do you ever really just shake up your writing and try something new? I’ve always been a strictly linear writer, but this book is a longer single title, and weaves the story of the different characters all through it. So I’m writing whatever scene pops into my head.

A little bit of problems trying to figure out how to keep the scenes straight, but I think I figured out Word’s outline feature to do that.

So, what’s the most shocking  thing you’ve tried with your writing??

Writer forums

Yes, summer is ending. Now it’s time to settle back down into the routine. I’m ready for it. We’ve been crazy busy this summer and work is always nuts in the summer. One more week of that, and it will settle down too.

Time to get crackin’ with my writing. Again. Always. But for some reason the end of summer/beginning of fall is like the New Year for me. Time to make new goals. Push myself. Get back into the routine.

I’ve also discovered two new great resources. RWA Online a great online chapter. With FORUMS! instead of an email loop. They have some of the BEST workshops archived on there. And free to members.

Also…Romance Divas has a great forum. They also have some great workshops.

So, do you frequent any writer forums?
