Softest Sheets in the World

by Kacey

Okay, maybe not the softest in the whole wide world, but darn close. And I am a sheet connoisseur. Honest. I like high thread count, all cotton sheets. I’ve paid top dollar for really good sheets. I admit. I hate sleeping on cheap sheets.

So I was visiting my son last week. Stayed at his place. I could not believe how soft the sheets were on the bed. So I asked him where he got them.

Walmart.

So after I picked myself off the floor, I asked him WHEN he got them, because I wanted some. I needed some. He’d gotten them at the beginning of the semester, so off we go to Walmart. Well, as luck would have it. (well, I’m not usually this lucky. Usually they’d be out of Queen size or only have them in baby puke beige or something.) I found them in a lovely pale lavender. See?

Honestly, doesn’t that picture even SHOW how soft these sheets are? And SuperGuy is a secure in his manhood type of guy. He won’t mind the lavendar color. So. No problem with the lovely lavender color.

And because I’m so generous, here is a close up of the label. So you can run out and buy them for yourself. I’m thoughtful that way. At Walmart…

But, wait! There’s more. I have a link to them on the Walmart website. Even better yet. Shopping from the comfort of your home! And did I mention they were on clearance? Lovely, soft sheets here.

Really, I take such good care of you guys…

So are you picky about your sheets?

  1. I’ve gotten pickier over the years. It’s hard to find good sheets. The most expensive sheets I ever bought, high thread count, all-cotton, were lovely and soft. The first time I washed them, they went pilly. Made me wonder if I should go back to the cheap ones.

  2. Oh cool. I’ll look for those!!

  3. I am going to make a beeline for Walmart today.

  4. Aren’t they just yummy looking? And they are already like your favorite old sheets that you’ve washed 100 times and love because they are so buttery soft.

We have a set of sheets like that, that are SO ugly, but we use them because they are so, SO incredibly soft!

  5. Thank you!!!!! I am going to buy some too.

I bought Wamsutta sheets for years. Without any treatment. They were soft and had scalloping and I loved them. They were the original old fashioned sheets.
Now they are hard to find and muy expensive.

My pillowcase has just ripped….they are that old and loved.

I can’t wait to try these!!!

  6. i got the softest (cheap, too $59.99) king-size sheets at Tuesday Morning - they were Italian cotton, whatever that is - and 1000 threads per inch. They’re so darn thick I can only wash one sheet at a time. Went back to get another set and, of course there are no more.
I’ll be following Mental Mama to Walmart after work today. 400 thread count…….lovely!!

Thanks for the heads up! (I hear Target also has incredibly soft inexpensive sheets too.

  7. I think one thing that makes those sheets so soft is they are made of 100% Pima cotton. When I got married a hundred years ago(acutally 43), I got a set of Pima cotton sheets in my wedding shower. They were my favorites, and you can’t wear them out. They finally frayed around the edges and the middle got thin. I ended up making crib sheets for my last child. The sheets were 13 years old by then, and still great.

  8. i so hate **rough** sheets…
    especially if they are
    ~~baby puke beige~~

    :-)

    true confession:
i pay more for great sheets
    than i do for clothes…

  9. Oh, pretty! And one of my favorite colors! I use flannel sheets almost exclusively, even in summer. Just because they’re so much softer than most of the cotton sheets I’ve ever had.

  10. I am picky about my sheets. I figure that I spend a third of my life in bed (well, ideally at least). So, I might as well be as comfortable as possible. Thanks for the tip!

  11. Yes, I’m picky. But when I’m tired, I’ll sleep on anything. I bought 1000 count pima cotton sheets from Amazon last Christmas (2006) on sale for $60 queen sized. They sold out in a week. They feel like silk. But right now, my husband likes sleeping on flannel when it’s this cold. And I miss my 1000 count sheets.

  12. I don’t know where the comment went that I just posted, so I’ll try again.

I have 1000 count sheets I bought on sale from Amazon in 2006 for $60 and they are awesome. But I’m planning on going to Walmart and getting these, too. Thanks!

  13. I bought some sheets–in the late fall that were on sale–these were cheap and I think the thread count was probably not high. When you wash them they are quite a bit wrinkly–but I love the feel of them–not sure if they were the ones you have–but I went out and bought another pair immediatel afterwords! :crazy2:

  14. I don’t buy fancy or expensive sheets at all. But then again, I still have babies and toddlers around. The last set of sheets were trashed because Joshua was born on them.

  15. I think you are one of my new best friends… first, you find me some super soft sheets which I can afford… then you show me that you like purple, which is my favorite color… and THEN… THEN you make this available to me online (I don’t like to go anywhere)… I think this is the start of a BE A U Tiful friendship!

  16. […] way to start a post, now isn’t it? The perfect knife? Well, we discussed my addiction to the softest sheets in the world. Now we’ll talk about my affinity for really good kitchen knives. Here is my favorite: […]

  17. it says you cannot buy those walmart sheets online, and I cannot find them within 100 miles of my Maine zip code. What areas are these purple sheets located in? Thanks.

  18. I agree with Margery - I have bought several sets of cotton sateen sheets, with fairly high thread counts, and they get pilled up in the first few nights of use.
I just bought some at Wal-Mart, but could not find the ones you mentioned. The only Home Trends one are cotton blend, so I got Canopy with a 300 thread count, cotton sateen.
They got pilled up within 3 nights so I am returning them.

  19. I’ll go check those out but I don’t know…I’m such a sheet snob. I’ve always gotten mine from elegantlinenspc.com. When we travel I take my own sheets to the hotel…I know…my obsession is out of hand! I can’t sleep on anything else!
