The Strangest Cloud
by KaceyRemember when you were a kid and you used to stretch out on the cool grass and stare up at the clouds and pick out the pictures they made. A dragon. A dog. A man with a beard? Well, okay, I still sometimes like to do that. It keeps a person young, don’t you know. Why should kids have all the fun?
So, in an effort to procrastinate today…which isn’t a very hard thing for me to do… I was looking through my pictures from Palm Springs again. This picture keeps calling to me. Why? Because this is the strangest looking cloud. I mean, it’s like it wants to BE something. Make a cloud picture for me or something. But it’s just not quite there.

This was early morning, just as the sun was rising.

This is what the sunrise finally became. Glaring. Bright. Reflective.
But back to that cloud. Do you see something in that cloud? Please tell me what you see! It’s bugging me. What’s up with that one lonely cloud anyway? (Can you tell I’m avoiding paying bills, doing laundry, and all those things on my to do list?)
Photo of the Month News:
When I last checked, unless someone sends over a bunch of their friends to vote for their photo of the month
, the race is too close to call. You can keep obsessively checking the results. I’m leaving the voting open for another few days. Really, they were all such great photos. Who could choose??

I think it looks like an albino ferret with a really long tail (maybe this is because we used to own such a creature and that helps me interpret what I’m seeing … can you tell I’m an art educator?). Re: the bills, laundry, etc. … I, too, procrastinate when I’d rather be pursuing creative outlets. It’s okay!
It’s a kitten moving through the snow and leaving its wake.
It’s a . . . mermaid cat with her tail lying in a calm sea . . . or maybe a cat at her wedding, lounging while she waits for the music to begin, that long train spread behind her and that annoying veil pulled back.
(contributed on behalf of Birdie, the lap cat, who’s currently annoyed. Just because.)
It reminds me of a cartoon snail trudging along.
It definitely looks like a snail to me, leaving a snail trail behind it. But it would have to be a pheonix snail because of it’s flaming red color.
Thanks for the kind comment on my blog! Im glad Im back too (and it definitely wasn’t you
Yup…definitely a snail! How cool of you to post this…I use to have those days looking at clouds like that, being lazy, young and carefree…thank you for reminding me of those simple days!
I see a Beaver! This is fun! Perhaps a brand new Meme is born… Sunday Cloud Gazing or something much more clever?
Ummm… I forgot to change my URL to point to blogger. Doh!!
I immediately thought of a ferret too.
Oh wow… did you take those pics? That is an amazing cloud!
Thank you for vising my house in the roses….
Have a great day
cielo
It’s either a mermaid or a genie.
9 says it looks like a fox, running very fast.
I saw a snail, leaving a trail.
I think it’s a cat, with a very long tail. Happy procrastinating!
xoxo,
Mary
funny you should say it is bugging you….I thought it looked like a snail moving from left to right, leaving his slime trail behind him.
Yeah, I see a snail, too. Or maybe a dragon.
a ferret? Hm, they kind of creep my out. A kitty maybe. A dragon. Yes, I’m starting to see these things. Snail. See why it’s bugging me?? It’s just not quite a “ah ha! That’s what it is” cloud.
It’s a little snail and it’s leaving a trail.
Hey, someone already got that one!
Tadpole?
I sort of see a cat. Orange of course.
i think it’s a *squirrel* with a very long tail
I just love how bright and crisp the mountains are below that orangey cloud shard. What a great photo!

I see a cat too, with its head up, and I think it is pulling some string along behind it
I’m going to call in my experts at cloud-imagination…the boys…for this one. I love the color. And the flare, fabulous!
Thanks for sharing at SS today
