So, do you ever look at your stats for your blog? Well, I do. It’s the accountant in me I guess. Anyway, there is one search term that keeps popping up. Like over and over. Multiple times a day. Nicknames for Amy. Seriously, what’s up with that??

Would I lie to you about this stuff? Okay, I wrote ONE POST on Nicknames You Love or Hate. But what’s up with the Amy part? I so did not come up with any nicknames for Amy.
So let’s help those Google searchers out here. Let’s give them some nicknames for Amy. (as an aside, I always felt sorry for people with short, 3 letter names. It is hard to get a nickname out of them!) I know we have some Amys that read this blog, what did you have as a nickname, or did you? Anyone? Can we come up with a list of nicknames for Amy?
Ames.
Ammers.
Um, I’m running out of steam here…
As another aside, I get a lot of Google traffic to high heel crocs. In case you were wondering, yes, they make them. Who knew?

Get them here. Has anyone seen them in real life?
Oh, and I have to tell SuperGuy he’s a real man. ‘Cause, you know, right up there on the list they were searching for photos of real men.
Sorry, digressed again. So let’s list off any nicknames you can think of for Amy. Or if not that, then how about the weirdest nickname you’ve heard for someone.

This is too funny! I’m kind of blown away by this. My nicknames are Ame, Ames, and Amarella. My beau calls me Gorgeous and Luscious. If he calls me Amy, he’s mad at me. The best alternative name I wear?
Mom!
Uhhh, that’s a tough one, how ’bout “mimi”.
I’ve always wanted a nick name, but my real name doesn’t really lend itself to it.
ps… hope your trip went well and was tornado free.
The kids call one of our cats Butterbutt….
If Amy were my Swiss grandmother’s grandchild (or anyone she loved), she would be called Amylee/ly Grandma told me it was traditional to add lee/ly to the end of someone’s name as a term of endearment. She always called me Annlee and my girls Remyly (pronounced rem-ah-lee) and Brynnly.
My 3 letter name is easily nicknamable (is that a word???).
Dad calls me Annlee (thanks to grandma), mom & sister call me Annie. Mental P. Mama calls me Annie Banannie. Nephew Dodgie (my nickname for him – his real name is Roger) calls me Auntie Nanas, thanks to my brother who tried, in vain thank god, to get Dodgie to call me Auntie Anna Bananas. Brothers…so svery thoughtful at times.
High heeled crocs? Ok, I think they’ve gone too far…
I have two friends named Aimee, and both of them either went by Aimee or Aims. But I did not a boy in Jr. High that’s name was Joshua and his nickname was Scooter. On the first day of Choir class, the teacher called out “Joshua…..” and he replied “I go by Scooter” another boy then said-”Scooter, that’s my dog’s name!”
(High heeled crocs! I gotta get some of those!)
I love the tradition of adding an ly or lee to the end of a loved one’s name. That’s cool.
Yes, those high heeled crocs. I must see them in person. . .
I got nuthin’. I am done thinking for the week. Have a lovely weekend, and stay high and dry out there in the mid-land.
Could we not come up with Nicknames for Amy? Really, I had enough of that growing up.
I get some weird Search Engine hits, too. Mostly dogs. And funny parenting.
The best I can do is A. Hard to make a 3 letter word any shorter than it already is.
Growing up, my brother would call me “Trace Face” and I would cry.
The weirdest thing- On a show last night, the girl’s nickname was “J-Bunny.” She was this super-rich spoiled teenage daddy’s girl (it was a reality show, so she is a real person) and she demanded everyone call her that…including her parents. And they did.
All I could think of was Ames.
Though I go by Tori online, I was born just plain Vicki. Which got shortened to Vic. I didn’t mind that. But then a friend started calling me Tori for reasons I no longer recall, but I liked it. And the rest is history. *g*
Amyson–three syllables
Just talked to a gal here at work who’s name is Amy said in high school she was called “Amos” or “Famous Amos”, which she particularly hated.
I’ve been thinking about blogging about this same topic. People come to my blog from some odd search terms, including “one rotten apple” and “duck billed platypus” on a fairly regular basis. Weird, eh?
As for Amy… It’s such a short name. One could lengthen it to Amelie for some French flair!

Thanks for visiting by blogg.I had a nickname when I was yunger my last name was Potter(like Harry) and the kids added another O.It always made me mad and embarrassed .
Brenda
I had a friend named Amy. We called her Amsy (pronounced Aim-z). And sometimes Amsy doodle. I don’t know why.
I have a friend named Melanie. I met her at work and would always say “Thanks Mel”, which sounds like “Thank Smell”. So I started calling her Smell. Which turned into…
Smelly Poo and Smelly Pie. I lived with her in college and soon everyone started calling her that. Some people would ask me what her real name was.
Well, I suppose there is “Amerino,” but that’s longer than Amy so I don’t know if it counts for a nickname.
Our cat’s nickname is “El Gato Grando Poucho.” But we don’t use it too often. She’s sensitive about her weight.
Hope your weather is not too horrible this weekend…
xoxo,
Mary
So interesting what brings people here through a search!
Oh, BTW, I used the high heal crocs in my post today and linked up!
I have no idea what these stats are. But I do know someone I call Ami Jami (it’s pronounced Amy Jame-y) and her last name is part of the Jami thing. It’s weird because she’s the daughter of a friend of mine and yesterday, I was at a light in Newark, DE and my cell text rang and it said it was from Ami Jami, saying “i’m right next to you” which she was. And we waved.
Weird that I’d read this today.
I do not like those crocs. Perhaps they really do look good on some people, though. Not for me.
Wake up and smell the plastic?!

My nickname is Ninja.

i found myself being called Hamster. because of the whole ‘amster’ into ‘hamster’
but Amos is another one i get, plus amz (said like aims) and Weed. but thats just because im the youngest and the shortest…my sister gets to be the daisy
Yeah, in 5th grade it was Famous Amos. When even younger, I liked to read Amelia Bedelia books, and my older sister tried to convince me that was my real name… she still calls me Amelia sometimes. I got Ames from a couple of close friends. But I think my fave is Aymela (a muh lah) which was coined by my brother-in-law. Don’t know why I like it. Maybe because it’s different.
Funny, that’s exactly how I got here. I didn’t even know you could find out how people got to your site!!!
Ahhh. I’ve been called-:
Amy (for the originality).
Amzy (Aim-zee)
Aimes
Aimster
Aim
Me
Mimi
Mimzie
Mimster.
Amy Beans (never understood that one).
Ami (Aim-I)
Shmamie.
Quite a lot, actually. I like Mimzie. I’m thinking of changing my name to this when I get to University and generally introducing myself as this.
Everyone’s called Amy, I swear. And it’s too boring now.
xxxxx
Well when I was younger my mom called me Annie…. don’t know why…maybe because I watched the movie all the time. But when I became and Aunt 17 years ago my nephew could not say Amy he would say MAMIE (mayme) and it has stuck…. and I also now have a two year old nephew who also calls me MAMIE because he can not say Amy.
I have heard Ames Aim Amster…. but I prefer Mamie…just because of how it came about
I Have Been Called Bethy-Boo Because my mom said she used to call me Boo to my friends so they cdall me Bethy-Boo (:
People call me Affy because of my last name.
My names Amy Elizabeth and have been struggling to find a middle name, friends call me Beth (From Elizabeth) but i’ve always wanted one from Amy, I’ve tried Ames, Mee (Mih), Amester, but they don’t sound right. When my nephew was learning to talk, he could never say my name properly and it caught on from him, so i’m now called Mamy x
