When I first started blogging, I was looking for a way to journal. I scrapbook, but rarely include words on my pages. I wanted my blog to compliment and fill in the blanks of my scrapbooking.

However, the people I have met, things I have learned, and general support from wonderful strangers have kept me motivated to blog.

I started as a way to share my photographs with my sisters and the rest of my family. Then I started getting comments from others and began visiting their blogs.

And was amazed at all the blogs that are out there.

I do it now because
1. I enjoy it
2. It’s a way to share my thoughts and photography
3. I hope someday to make some extra money doing it

I read blogs of others because I feel they’ve sort of become my friends and I like seeing what they have to say, or what the weather is like in their part of the world, or see what pictures they’re posting.

I don’t think there’s a day that goes by that I don’t read yours. Well, apparently 2 days have gone by now because it’s Wednesday and I’m just getting to this post! But honestly, it’s like a need a fix or something.

I guess for the me the reason I started blogging is because I love to write. I wanted to be able to remember things that happened in my life as I grow older and is sort of a dairy for myself. Then I started visiting others blogs and reading and made many new friends. I enjoy the friendships I have made with many other bloggers and now use blogging to keep in touch.

I think for me its a two fold reason. (1) it gets your name out there and (2) its nice to keep up with other writer friends and instills a sense of comraderie, like a built in cheering section for a job that is basically a one woman show.

I started blogging to keep a chronicle of daily events for Da’Gorgeouses AND to keep my extended family connected (although I don’t think very many of them ever drop by—and if they do they NEVER comment). I still blog for the same reasons.

You can make money off of these blogs?!!! Where have I been, and how may I ask do you do that?

As for other people’s blogs and commenting on them, well, for me it’s a way to make connections. As a SAHM, who isn’t very social unless she’s out there in the real world and exposed, it’s a good way to visit and communicate with others. Many times I feel like I’m stopping by to visit a longtime friend. :grin: Not to mention I’m learning all sorts of photography and mommy stuff!

Social networking. I’m an introvert who needs people. Blogging is more and less demanding than face-to-face friends. And I enjoy writing and expressing.

I don’t yet – but sure am considering it! I read and comment on those of you that do because it’s fun and it keeps me ‘connected’! What’s weird is that I have my favorites, occasionally add a new one, but the list keeps growing – so how do y’all keep up writing & reading too?

I dunno.

Mainly for the social stuff plus I like to network with other writers. Also, blogging keeps me writing. Oddly enough, the more often I blog, the more likely it is that I’m working on my WIP.

I started blogging as a way to keep a journal. I really thought that no one besides my closest friends and family would ever read it. Then I had friends recommend other blogs, they visited me in return. Some other people chanced upon my blog and I returned the favor and crazy as it sounds some of those people have actually become friends. So now I blog to stay in touch with my extended friendships. AND record the craziness I call life right now. I just think it’s a lot of fun.
