Worst Mama in the World

I’m not very happy…
Remember that cute wild turkey family in my backyard? With the THREE baby turkeys?
Now there is only one… Here is Mama Turkey pretending that she’s this great mama, watching over her baby.
Only she saw me taking pictures and ran for the woods.
Leaving her baby turkey all alone. Which is probably why there is only ONE baby turkey now. She gets the Worst Mama in the World award from WineontheKeyboard…and that’s saying a lot considering the screw ups I made raising five boys…
Mama?? Where are you? Mama??

I’ve made many screw ups, too, as a single mother, but I hope I’ve been no turkey.
Aww, poor baby looks scared. How sad. I hope that this one makes it anyhow!
aww.. It’s sad that a turkey does this — but you know, some human mothers do this too. I don’t understand how any woman could leave her child behind.

Bad, bad Turkey Mama!!! Turkey Mama deserves to end up on somebody’s Thanksgiving table…. But not the cute baby.

That poor little guy. She will probably come back. We have a ton of turkeys in our area and they can become quite a nuisance. Right now I am fighting them off of our blueberry patch. Thanks for visiting my site and leaving a message. I am looking forward to catching up on your site.

Oh, Lordy! I’d be looking for a snuggly place to bed down a lonely baby turkey. I’d never make it in the country. I’m too much of a soft touch. (I’m the one who puts out nuts and a little dish of water for the chipmunk that burrowed near my office window!)
