Coping Just Fine, Thanks

by Kacey on 8/19/2008

So I’m dealing with my youngest heading to college this week…

a bit of salt ruffles

In a very mature

animal crackers

and totally healthy manner.

(Who knew they still made these? Just was overwhelmed with the urge to buy them again today.)

beverage choice

Coping just fine, thanks for asking.

(Why, yes, that is SuperGuy’s extra large red wine glass. Why do you ask? I thought it appropriate to borrow it this week. It works great for Pinot Grigio, who knew??)

Do ya need a shoulder to cry on? We are here for ya!
Hang in there, the sadness will eventually go away.

Oh….your coping mechanisms look to be spot on to me. And I never mess around with any little white wine glass….

Makes me wanna go buy some Capri Suns and Fruit Roll-Ups … for old times’ sake. Hang in there; I will, too!

That’s funny, just last night I was drinking VODKA, eating Middleswarth Bar-b-q chips and gnawing the end of the block of swiss cheese.

are we related? :!:

I’ve ALWAYS been a fan of self-medicating. (i can’t stop commenting. sorry.)

Hey, the animal crackers were surprisingly good. Bless whoever learned how to making icing that doesn’t melt on cookies…

This morning my head has reminded me why such a big wine glass isn’t always such a brilliant idea… :wallbash:

I like your response with the wine much better than mine (the youngest just went to college this weekend). I cleaned closets! I did, however, “whine” about it.

You need some chocolate!

Starwoodgal 8/19/2008 at 8:40 am

Trust me! You will not miss the laundry.

:)

At least the depression didn’t overtake you to the point you drank straight from the bottle.

I like your method of coping. I’m anticipating when my neice goes off to college and don’t have time for her aunt, namely me.

At least you’re not drinking straight from the bottle.

My mom bought animal cookies while she was here. Love the frosted ones. Takes me right back to my childhood.

Add chocolate and you’ll be set.

Hang in there. Once the initial shock wears off you won’t know why it didn’t happen sooner.

Tori Lennox 8/19/2008 at 12:51 pm

Oh, man, if I was there I’d be fighting you :mad2: for those frosted animal crackers!!! *g*

Kacey 8/19/2008 at 3:46 pm

Long day. Still have Pinot Grigio left though, so all is not lost…

Kate 8/19/2008 at 8:04 pm

I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow. It will be okay. You’ve done very well and I love how close you and your family are. Save some wine for me.

Hugs and hang in there! :coffee:

Flea 8/20/2008 at 10:19 pm

He’ll come back, you know. He’ll bring the laundry with him.

Oh I definitely would’ve joined you in that meal. Glad to hear your youngest is off safely, if not without a hitch ;)
