Only had time for tomatoes in the full sun. I planted 3 varieties – Sun King, Health Kick, and Brandywine. Health Kick was the most successful. Today, I had to pull them up and toss them all in the green waste. Summer time is through…thank goodness. I can’t take much more heat.

We have the sunshine, but no fence to keep out the deer. I did buy four tomato plants to put in containers on the deck, but never got around to actually planting them. I just stuck the fourpack in a pot that had some dirt in the bottom. They actually grew in there, and we harvested a grand total of six tomatoes.

I guess it’s better than nothing. Almost.

You are sweet to let SuperGuy eat the lone tomato.

Mine is going great because i don’t have one! I just take what my neighbor grows in his garden. With his permission. Of course.

We are overrun with tomatoes at the moment! I’ve got them piled all over my kitchen counters and there are more that need to be picked. I wish I could give you some! I love tomatoes, but we have too much right now and I don’t want to can them this year. It’s too much yet just not quite enough to be worth canning.

I haven’t planted a garden in years and years. We are giving thought to having a few things next summer though. Of course when it comes right down to it, chances are we won’t.
