I saw a tv show saying to trim the branches on natural looking bushes just above the node or branching below the length that you want. By doing this now I can thin and shorten thebranches without removing the new growth that puts out the color in the fall. The bush isn't "smooth" or square but it is shorter and not as leggy and still colors every fall. Conventional hedge trimmers are not the answer on these bushes.

We have two of these in the front of our house. They are so beautiful in the fall and the birds love the little red berries in the fall. Ours have lost all of their leaves now. I have been so disorganized lately and I don't think I'll get a photo in this month. Can't wait to see everyone elses submissions!

We had a huge burning bush at our old house. We planted it soon after moving into our then new home, and watched it grow for 9 years. We need another at our new house - they're beautiful!

I entered a submission to this month's photo contest by leaving a comment in the contest post. Here's the link again.
