Ever have one of those lazy winter afternoons? Cold out? Drizzling rain. Dreary?

You just want to curl up on the couch with a nice warm afghan.

Your eyes get heavy.

Until you finally give up and take that cat nap you’ve been needing!
As an aside…the smoke detector went off last night. You know the annoying beeping every 30 seconds or so to let you know the
battery is dying? Why, oh why, do smoke detectors only having dying batteries when you’re fast asleep.
I was so tired I couldn’t get the darn smoke detector open to take out the battery…so I finally pried it open with a screw driver, broke it, pulled out the battery and had to throw the whole darn thing away.
Note to self–it’s SuperGuy’s turn to get the next smoke detector that goes off in the middle of the night. I’m tired today. (…and my arms are tired from so much painting. I’m too tired to raise up my arm to paint more today!)
Anyway, my motto is: Catnaps are a good thing!

It’s very hard to get photos of pure black cats. My smilies in my post don’t show for me either. Sigh.
We all need a day off, for sure! It will be rainy and dreary here too!
It IS hard to photograph black cats, isn’t it? I never get their full features.
Take the day off from painting…at least until your arms recover.
That whole wait until 1 or 2 in the morning to start beeping is one of myh pet peeves about smoke alarms. What is up with that?!
Can’t wait to see more of the results of your tired arms!
I have trouble photographing black cats, too.
Dreary winter afternoons are perfect nap times! We’re supposed to be storing up some of that energy for spring, right? (As the cats of the world roll their eyes at all of this crazy human running around…) Enjoy your restful day!
I love catnaps! And your two kitties are gorgeous.
So true about smoke detector batteries dying in the middle of the night! Last time one of ours did, it was in our bedroom…we have lofted ceilings, so at 3AM my husband had to go OUTSIDE to get the mega-ladder from the shed!! Ain’t that always the way
I feel a nap coming on.
Unfortunately, I’m at work right now . . .
Our smoke detector is connected to the security system, and it went off for the 1st time since we’ve lived here on the 4th of July, right before company arrived (it got smoky because we were frying Portebello mushroom fries) and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it off, so we had to eat out on the deck so that the sound of the smoke detector was at least muted. After we ate, Hubby finally cut the wires to it, and we had to have the company come out and reconnect it! (Now we have instructions posted inside a cabinet door.)
Oh, afternoon naps rule! RULE! It has begun to snow here. I’m thinking of taking a nap till St. Patrick’s Day.
xoxo,
Mary
it was most definitely one of those days that I would have preferred to stay in bed a while longer – rainy and dreary
isn’t the smoke detector battery one of those things you’re always supposed to change the same day you change the clocks for day light savings time? I guess yours went out early.
