First Day of Spring?

by Kay~Kacey on 3/21/2009

Yesterday was the first day of spring. Really? Seriously?

Imagine my surprise when I bounded out of bed, ready to seize the gorgeous, sunny, warm spring day. A day full of sunshine, warmth, and color.

But instead I saw this:

So not feeling the love here… It was a hoodie PLUS jacket morning as far as I was concerned. Not amused at all.

How was your first day of spring??

That totally sucks Kacey. It was gorgeous here yesterday. Temps close to 70 and the sun shining. Just beautiful. Now today it’s raining once more. But we had one very pretty day. Hope yours is warmer and with lots of sunshine soon.

It started out cold here, too, but warmed to a sunny 60 before the storm clouds moved in. I celebrated spring by tilling the raised beds in the big garden and planting 1000 row feet of peas. (I might have gotten just a little bit carried away with the peas this year.)

It was phenomenal! High around 75 degrees. T-shirt and shorts weather. Worked in the gardens. Felt sunshine on my neck. That feeling you get when you’ve worked hard without thinking about much of anything for hours as you tuck plants into their homes. Meditative time. We boomers need that, don’t we?

It was very spring-like. Chilly but beautiful when the sun broke through the clouds. Sorry yours was so cold.

Did it warm up there today? It turned out really nice here in WV today!

Ummm. It snowed here in Connecticut. Not a good sign.

It was a GORGEOUS day in Louisiana, where I was visiting my grandmother. Azaleas all blooming. Then I climbed into the truck and drove back to Tulsa. And drove. And drove. So the first day of spring was VERY LONG.
