Yes, it’s time for our annual Easter Egg sling shot fun. This year it was back at home on our deck. As opposed to last year at the beach. Or the year we used a blow up Easter Bunny as a target.
First we dyed the pretty eggs. Well, SuperGuy dyed them. No boys were anywhere to be found.
We get out the sling shot and the pretty eggs and shoot them out into the woods.
There is a lot of discussion about where to shoot.
It’s serious business to check and see if you hit the exact tree you said you would hit.
“I’m going to nail that Y branch in that tree right over there.”
There were incredulous looks and laughing when they almost nailed a bird. I was not amused…
Unfortunately, once again, I fell on my rear end while shooting my share of the eggs. 🙄 Ah, well.
It degenerated for a bit to actually throwing the eggs instead of using the sling shot.
Of course we got the obligatory pointing shot. They can’t help themselves.
The deer are going to have a field day eating up all the egg pieces scattered through the woods behind our house.
Unfortunately, with all those deer coming into the yard to eat the eggs, I’m afraid that means my tulips are toast…
The “boys” would love that way too much!! That’s an idea to keep them occupied!
That’s too funny! I just read my friend Melanie’s blog, and she tosses eggs up in the air and smacks them with a baseball bat on Easter. It’s a tradition that started many years ago when her kids got antsy in church on Easter Sunday.
I love traditions. Good for you and your guys to continue this one.
Looks like fun. We’ve tried old tennis rackets, too, but that gets pretty messy at the impact point — which is usually right over your shoes.
Do deer eat eggs? Wow! I had no idea! I think we may need to start this tradition ourselves with a twist. Perhaps we will use the eggs as targets in a bb gun shooting contest. I will so with that one! 😉
I bet my kids would love to shoot eggs with bb guns, LOL.
OK – You are now the coolest mom on the block! That looks like such fun. I have to show my hubby!
That looks like a fun fambly tradition!
