Okay, I’m just a big, silly dork. I love, love musicals! Tonight is the season opening of the Muny Opera. :love:
We have season tickets. It’s one of those little extravagances that I try not to feel guilty about.
The Muny Opera is this wonderful, outdoor theater down in Forest Park. I’ve been going there since I was a little, tiny girl. I can sing all the words to a bunch of the classic muscials. I told you I was a dork. Thank goodness, SuperGuy is a dork too…he loves to go as much as I do.
Tonight is 42nd Street. (Lullaby of Broadway!)

Godspell (I know all the words, did Godspell with my musical group in High School.)
The Music Man (who doesn’t love 76 Trombones?? or The Wells Fargo Wagon??? Oh, my gosh, or the whole Ode to a Grecian Urn thing!!) –which as a total aside…SuperGuy starts singing the Wells Fargo Wagon is a coming down the street whenever he sees the UPS truck head towards our house…

Hairspray (I’ve never seen it!!)
Ah, I have a wonderful summer ahead of me full of musical theater. Go ahead and admit it if you dare…do you love musicals? What’s your favorite musical? Your favorite show tune?
I saw Brigadoon, starring John Davidson, there years ago. What a treat!
I saw Hairspray on !Broadway! a few years ago – it was so fun! The only musical other than that was one where everyone was on roller skates and it was about trains….darn if I can remember the name of that one…

I love musicals, too! Watching the snippets of the Tony Awards the other night had me even wanting to see Hair which I’ve never wanted to see in my entire life!
Meant to add, I think the only musical I’ve seen live and in person (that I can recall, anyway) was Phantom of the Opera which I adored.
