My grandmother's necklace. Tho it's a piece of costume jewelery, to me it was a 10 karat emerald. As I grew older, I knew it wasn't ~real~, but it was more than ~real~ to me because it was my grandmother's. Imagine how thrilled I was when she gave it to me when I married. I treasure it to this day and all I have to do is look at it and she's right here with me.
Thank you, Kacey, for dredging up such sweet memories!

Hmmm....I feel an entire grandparents post coming on...

Wonderful post!! Chiming wall clocks always remind me of visits to my grandparent's home. Grandpa did not have good health and tinkered with fixing watches and clocks. There were always a multitude of clocks hanging that needed repair. Those wonderful chimes going off on the half-hour and hour were so musical. I can remember running into the living and waiting for the music to begin. One of my fondest memories.

Ah, great post! Just the mention of croquet takes me back to my childhood and those summer evening games on either my great-aunt & uncle's lawn or next door on Great-grandma Flora's. A ball of string takes me back to my grandmother's kitchen. But touchpoints I keep at hand? That would have to be the well-worn buffalo nickels my daughters found for me when they were teenagers working the till at restaurants. (Yes, people really do spend those things - mindboggling, eh?)
