I think even during the summer that you will find where you stayed a very comfortable pace and not very crowed. We have a house in Salvo in the first development as you head north out of Avon, and if there is a dozen people on the beach, that is a lot. Thanks for sharing the beautiful sunrise.

I found your blog through a google alert for Outer Banks – where I live. Your photos are awesome and the week you were here, the weather was incredible, we too enjoy having the windows open and hearing the surf at night. My St. Louis cousin was here in May and enjoyed her trip, flew into Norfolk and rented a convertible. She and her friend felt like Thelma and Louise.

I actually enjoy Ocracoke better, in mid to late October. Perfect! Only thing is that you don’t get the ocean view, but staying right on the harbor is really nice.

Seriously? You need to stop with the pictures and descriptions unless you truly want me to move in with you. I have blog/travel envy in a BAD way whilst reading this post.

I miss the Destin area; my favorite times there are off season. I like the serenity.
