Finally Family Photos

by Kay~Kacey on 11/30/2010

Ha! Say finally family photos 3 times fast!

float wraps

I finally ordered a bunch of photos of the family. I ordered what most labs call wraps or float wraps. They are prints that are slightly padded and affixed to a mounting board. I love them.

I think I’m going to put a big print on both ends of this display too…when I figure out what I want. I had these printed on metallic photographic paper, a bit more, but I love the look.

float wraps from the side

Here is a photo of them from the side so you can see how “thick” they are. I love that they look finished without any frame. I ordered these from ProLab Express because they had all the sizes I needed. The large ones are 10×20, the middle is 8×8, the one above that is 8×10, and the upper right corner one is 10×10. With 2″ between them it comes out as 32″ by 32″.  I’m also going to order some smaller ones to set on small easels. Just love these float wraps!

As an aside….see that return air duct over the couch?? I HATE it. Seriously. It is not centered on the wall, nor is it centered between the beams on the ceiling. Drives me insane and makes the room always look off center. Rant over. That is all.

Just Another Crazy Holiday

by Kay~Kacey on 11/29/2010

Yes, another crazy holiday at our house…with some of our family traditions…

Doesn’t everyone have a stuffed turkey butt vase on their table? We have for, well, years. My nephew got the third degree this year when he went to pick it up at the florist. (Don’t know how he drew the short straw this year for the pick up!). He had to give phone numbers, address, name…heck probably his ID to get them to give it to him. Thanks, KC!

SuperGuy fries the turkey each year. Well, turkeyS. Like usually 4. Or 5. But this year is was pouring down rain, then sleeting, then snowing.

SuperGuy made this ghetto leanto to protect the bird and the men folk retired to the garage to tell lies tall tales talk.

SuperGuy also makes the gravy and my brother-in-law makes the mashed potatoes. It’s nice to have help. My oldest here is doing a great job supervising, isn’t he?

I got up at the crack of dawn…I swear… to bake homemade cinnamon rolls. Okay, we ate late this year, so I didn’t start them until about 9am. But I like to make out like it’s a big deal so I’m appreciated!

Anyway, we had a fabulous time. I ate too much and I’m going to not eat for a week. Honest. Did you have a great weekend?

All the things to be thankful for

by Kay~Kacey on 11/24/2010

As Thanksgiving approaches I stop and give thanks for all the many blessings in my life. My family and friends. The good times.

Life throws us curves, but we find the strength to move through them and get to the other side. (albeit, sometimes with a bit of ranting and a glass or so of wine.)

I am so thankful for the joy these boys bring me. (even if sometimes they take turns making me :hairpull:) (yes, I’m talking about you!)

I’m also extremely happy to have another female in the family! And I adore her:

And I will so miss the ones not coming into town for Thanksgiving this year:

and these two:

and, last but certainly not least, I’m so thankful to be married to this man. My best friend. He completes me.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving with lots of good times. Either a quiet dinner or a rowdy crowd like ours. I’m also thankful for all of you, my blogging friends. I’ll see back here  on the blog on Monday. Stay safe.
