Family Life

The Making of a Couple Photo

by Kay~Kacey on 6/23/2014

So, SuperGuy needed a casual photo for his work. They wanted one with his wife, maybe a dog or two. Okay…problem? I’m always taking the photos, not actually in the photos. Oh, we have the silly ones when the boys grab my camera at family gatherings, BBQs, weddings, etc. But…most of those wouldn’t be appropriate for say…his business website.

So, I gather up my tripod, camera…and where the heck is my remote…nope, can’t find it. Will have to do the push the button and dash into place thing. Okay.

Jack wasn’t much interested in posing…and I blew out the sky.

Got a lot of out of focus photos from the whole click and dash thing.

Murphy thought he just HAD to lick my face in the middle of the photo session…

So we ended up with two that are kind of okay. Sent them both to his office. They can pick.

Will find my remote if we try that again! But that would mean…you know…unpacking more boxes…

New Puppy

by Kay~Kacey on 5/27/2014

Because we are just crazy people…and I can’t say no to SuperGuy…we have a new puppy. SuperGuy’s farm dog. I have to admit he’s like the most adorable pup ever. (Don’t tell Murphy and Maggie).

Here he is on the ride home. SuperGuy and his little buddy.

The first day he just kind of hung out and tried to figure out this big new world of his.

He actually got named the first day. I know…very unusual for us. We usually take weeks and weeks to name our pets. Meet Jackson. Jack.

A Day at The Unnamed House

by Kay~Kacey on 5/13/2013

So, we’ve yet to name the new house after 6 months of living in it..We’ve toyed with The Willows…because we planted a bunch of them. Or The Nest…because we used to have The Love Nest…and this just sounds more permanent than Love Nest. But

, whatever. Still undecided. But…I digressed…here is some of how we spent our time at the new house this weekend.

I was busy with Murphy. You know, photographing him. Looking at how cute he was. I mean, I was BUSY.

Blenheim Cavalier

I found some time to try out different lenses to capture these yellow flowers. I think they are field mustard. Surprisingly hard to capture…

Some of us just worked on silly stuff like planting trees. I mean really? When there were some cute puppies to play with?? And photos to take?

The Allium has just started to bloom. Total surprise because SuperGuy forgot where he planted it last fall…

Oh, and I was busy capturing the very first sprouts in my very first garden! I mean…that’s important stuff!!! Captured for eternity!

While some people just lollygagged around planting more trees. (After very helpful advice on placement from his nagging loving wife.)

I even managed to find time to almost capture a photo of Princess Maggie. She hates having her photo taken almost as much as my sister does!

So, SuperGuy continued on with his extraneous chores…

I just went and poured us some champagne and waited patiently for him to quit his fooling around with silly chores and come join me.
