A Man and Woman at a Photo Shoot

by Kay~Kacey on 8/13/2009

Remember when I tried to explain the difference of a man and a woman at an antique mall? Well, I’m going to try and explain the difference between a man and a woman when they go on a photo shoot. For instance, if they, say…went to Colorado…

Estes Park Mosaic

The woman spends her time taking photos of pretty things. Waterfalls. Flowers. Mountains. Streams.

pine tree bark

The man takes pictures of tree bark. (okay, we can almost give him that one. Kind of interesting…)

chipmunk behind

The man moves on to taking photos of a chipmunk’s behind…

And when the woman asks him to grab a photo of her with her beloved front range of mountains in the background…

kacey and the mountains almost

He takes this. The woman is almost in the photo…

zipper undone

He quickly moves onto taking a photo of the woman’s zipper being undone. How special. The man is so immature…  :loser:

The woman retaliates nicely. Women are quick like that…
superguys assets

The woman gets a photo of his, um… assets.

I leave you with one last photo, of course. Because what is a photo shoot of my family without a pointing picture??

I will never understand males…

Fun Times at the Photo Shoot

by Kay~Kacey on 4/9/2009

So, did I mention that we had a fun time at the photo shoot? Well, we sure did.

singing in the rain
It wasn’t long before we were swinging on lampposts. Here is Rebekah’s imitation of singing in the snow rain. She was so much fun!

Charlie's Angels
Then there was the Charlie’s Angel’s episode. We so should have gotten a third photographer in this one!

Lily in car
By this point, our littlest model had had it. She watched from the warmth of the car, wondering what those crazy ladies were up to!

Trail Head Brewery
Eventually all good things must come to an end. Or at least move in where it’s warm. Notice the TrailHead Brewery sign in the background. It was calling our names. Amazingly enough–and you who know me well will hardly believe this one– I ordered hot tea instead of a beer!

(Like I said in yesterday’s post, I will post the actual real live photos from the shoot, and links to their websites as soon as I get them edited.)

St. Charles Missouri Photo Shoot

by Kay~Kacey on 4/8/2009

So this past weekend I met up with a bunch of ladies that I met on the Clickinmoms forum. We went to a fabulous photography seminar called Tots to Teens. (yes, it was about photographing toddlers to teenagers.) It was put on by Sandy Puc and it was so amazing. The seminar went from 1pm to 7:30 and she had the audience enthralled for every minute of it. So some of the ladies stayed overnight, and we went on a photo shoot in Old St. Charles the next day.

It was snowing that morning but cleared up a bit by the time we were shooting. Snow in April. I’m so over it.

photography-shoot

Freezing cold. But we had a blast. It was the first time I’ve shot with other photographers, and I learned a lot. Like, it’s really hard to get the model to actually look at you with so many cameras going at once. I take my time getting shots, yes, I’m slow. I found I missed some of the shots because right as I took them, the person would look at the next camera…  They all have more experience than I do, so it was great watching them in action.

mitten photography
Did I mention it was cold? Traci is a freak. She just had on a sweater and said she was fine. She so totally had to be lying? Right?? She’s a trooper, she was headed down to the Cardinal’s season opener after the photo shoot!

photography in the cold

Really cold. Who knew you could take all these photos with mittens on??

chimping

I had the best time getting to know all these great photographers. We talked non stop photography for two days. Doesn’t get much better than that! I’m going to link out to all their photography websites and blogs when I put up my final edited photos of each of them. So make sure to check back. That might take me awhile. I’m slow on my photoshop skill on portraits.

reflector

Each of us took a turn at being the model. We threw off our coats, model, then yank our coats and mittens back on. Notice on this one we finally had a reflector out. Yes, we should have been using it all along, but we didn’t figure out we had one along until we were at our last area where we were taking shots. By then, we were just looking for a nice heated inside location.

camera bag

I had some serious camera bag and camera strap envy going on here. I’m so getting a girlie camera bag and strap!

Tomorrow, some fun photos from the shoot, then I’ll post the fully edited portraits after I have time to work with them. Okay?

It is so much fun to hang with people who share your passion!
