Oh, I was at the wedding too

by Kay~Kacey on 7/1/2010

just in case you were wondering…

See, I’m here with my gorgeous family! This is before the wedding. I don’t think we actually got a photo with all of us and Steph after the wedding.

This is what I did for a lot of the wedding. I actually had some kickbutt cute heels to wear…but I never got them on my feet! Too busy having fun!

The mother/son dance. I’m not sure when he got so tall…or old enough to get married.

And one of my favorites…taken by Matt with his iPhone:

I adore this man! :love2:

Chandler Hill Vineyards Wedding

by Kay~Kacey on 6/24/2010

I’m finally doing an actual wedding post! This winery is so gorgeous. Such a wonderful place for a wedding. Forgive the image heavy post.

matt-wedding-7409Matt getting ready for the wedding. Everyone kept asking him if he was nervous. He kept asking “why does everyone keep asking me that?” He doesn’t look nervous, does he?

matt-wedding-7426The groomsmen getting ready for the wedding…no, wait, they are playing with their iPhones… 🙄

Right after Matt saw Stephanie for the first time, at the hotel before the wedding. (they did photos before the wedding and after it.) Here is where a big storm came rushing in… Matt said he kept thinking, do NOT rain on her. Do NOT. See how windy it is? The wind started blowing over those tables and chairs.

The one in which I started crying. Yes, I know. The VERY beginning of the wedding with Matt walking out with the minister. Couldn’t help it. He looks so happy. It still makes me cry to look at it.

When he first saw Stephanie walking down the aisle.

matt-wedding-7519

The one where there was a slight mixup of the rings…and Stephanie said, “Mine is the one with the diamonds!” Everyone cracked up. I love that girl!

You may kiss the bride.

The happy couple. I was busy being the mother-of-the-groom so I didn’t get all the photos I would have liked to capture. I was busy staying out of the way of their official photographer too. That was weird not being the one telling people where to stand, where to look, etc. I will have some more photos up later of funny things from the wedding, but I’ll leave you with this, my favorite photo…

Some of my Favorite People

by Kay~Kacey on 6/22/2010

I know I’m always sharing how much I adore SuperGuy and my boys…but I wanted to share a few other special people in my life. The wedding was a perfect time to be surrounded by them…and I’m feeling sappy and emotional…so here they are, in no particular order.

My Parents.

matt-wedding-7488

I know. They are too adorable, aren’t they? They are in their *cough* 80’s and still having fun, enjoying their family…and still happily in love after 58 years of marriage. I owe them so much. Ever a constant in my life. I love you.

Here are my two very best friends in life.

matt-wedding-7477

Janice and Sue. I’m not sure I would be as sane as I am…if I am…without these two women. This is the first time they ever met after hearing about each other for over 25 years! Janice lives here, and Sue lives in Colorado. Remember when I went to Sue’s daughter’s wedding last year? And Janice’s sons wedding on our big road trip last year? Anyway, these two are more than anyone could hope for in a good friend. I could call either one in the middle of the night and know they would be here if I needed them. We’ve watched our kids grow. Watched ourselves age. We’ve laughed, cried, whined and wined, lamented over things our kids have done…or not done. They are the. best. best. friends. ever.

Then there is my cousin:

My cousin, Chris the Girl. The one who just had her 40th birthday! Not sure what caused us to click as cousins, –and she’s a tad bit younger– but we’ve stayed close over the years. She babysat my boys when they were little, she has listened to me complain about stupid little things and big old things. She’s always there with a smile. She’s beautiful, isn’t she? Thanks for always being there for me, Chris.

And last, but certainly not least…my sister, Cheri.

matt-wedding-7493

Seen here in a rare occurrence where she’s not making a face at me when I try and take her photo. As much as we’ve driven each other nuts at times over the years, she is the one person I know I can call and she’ll make me laugh…no matter what. She gets me. She gets being a mother of boys. She’s got my back. . .and, yes, I’ve heard she looks just a tad like me…

So, thanks for putting up with my emotional ramblings. I will get around to fixing up some more wedding photos…of the 640 that SuperGuy and I took…it’s taking a bit to sort through them all. I have stories to tell and fun things to share. It just takes time.

Who is that special person in your life? The one who is always there for you and gets you through the tough times?
