Another Proposal out the door

by Kay~Kacey on 4/25/2005

Okay, I finished up another proposal to mail off tomorrow. I’m such a nutcase. I get them almost ready, then I just let them sit while I avoid writing the synopsis. I mean you have to THINK to write the synopsis. It makes my brain hurt. :wallbash: Am I showing the GMC? Can you see the emotional arc? Too much subplot. DAMN, I forgot to add the romance :lips: Etc, etc. I can’t get “into the flow” writing a synopsis like I can with writing the actual pages of the manuscript. But this month I’ve been tough on myself and forced myself to write up the synopsis and polish the chapters again and mail out more stuff. ™

Either that or I’m scared to make a decision on what new story I want to start…so I’m doing some classic avoidance maneuvers. Whatever, I’m on to new stuff this week. Though I have a busy week at the pesky day job this week too. We’ll see how much progress I can make.

I’d rather clean toilets than write a synopsis … But the book part? THAT I love to write.

Hurry up! Get it out the door!!!!! :mad2:

I hear ya. That’s why I’ve avoided writing synopsis like a plague. :typing:

My synopsis is always so bad. I hate them. I’d rather do anything than write them.

Olga April 25, 2005 at 10:37 am

Actually, me too. It seems to be easier to write the entire book than 2 pages of synopsis. Best of luck on your proposal!

I’ve been trying to get a submission package out the door too. Good luck with your’s!!

Ha! Out the door and into the postmaster’s hands on my lunch break! Well, I’m not really having beer on my lunch break!

I’m thinking that writing a synopsis is a learned thing. And eventually I’ll get better at it. Well, I am better at it, but I still suck :wallbash:

I used to suck at blurbs too…and now I can get the first and last sentence of them with no trouble. It’s that middle sentence or two that still throws me 🙄

Flow? A synopsis can actually FLOW? Couldn’t prove it by me! Good luck with the proposal!

Day jobs are WAY overrated. So are synopses!

Michelle April 25, 2005 at 7:01 pm

Good luck, Kacey!! You can do it!! And I think synopses are :cursing:
