Someone Has to Do It!

by Kay~Kacey on 9/13/2005

So we’re on vacation. In Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island out of Destin Florida. Having a great time. This is how my dh is spending his vacation…Fishing, fishing, fishing fishing

This is how I’m spending my vacation. With a book. Or I’m on the beach reading, watching the dh fish and looking up every once in awhile and saying “that’s a big one, honey.” lazy days

Here is a view down the beach. Notice the distinct lack of people. It’s just wonderful here. Hardly anyone around. Almost deserted beaches. Deserted Beach

Well, someone has to do it…might as well be me…

It is hard to find gasoline around here. We filled up inland about 60 miles on the drive down. Finally found some gas at a Shell station and filled up again yesterday. Drove down the beach looking at huge beach homes to see how the other half lives. I don’t know though. The pressure of worrying about hurricanes each year would really be something, wouldn’t it?? We were supposed to be heading for New Orleans on Wednesday. Obviously that’s not happening. We could only get the condo until Thursday, so we’re either going to try and find something else for a few more days, or head back then. I’ll be back posting either this weekend, or on Monday.

No, I’m not getting any writing done. Shame on me. But I’m reading a lot, and I’m having a nice relaxing time. Our work is so crazy busy in the summertime, I really needed this break.

Looks beautiful, Kacey. Relax, enjoy, soak up the sunshine. There’s plenty of time to write when you get back and the snow is flying.

Lazing around at the beach has never been on my list of things to do, but… I have to admit it looks awfully relaxing!
