re entry problems

Hi Honey, I’m home…

And I don’t want to be. I want to be sitting on the beach. Staring at the waves. Plotting. Dreaming. Doing nothing. Real life is hard to deal with.

Have to go out looking for a new car. My minivan bit the dust and they can’t find out what’s wrong with it. It just doesn’t start whenever it feels like it. We’ve dumped so much money into it, we’re finally going to say Uncle. But I don’t want a new car. I just don’t care about cars. I just want one that runs. And one that’s red. The only thing I care about. I do like sitting up high like you do in a minivan or in my dh’s truck. We rented a car to drive on vacation…and I just could not get used to the low to the ground thing. And it was a big old buick something or other. White 🙄

Have to go back to work. Get back into the getting the youngest up for school each day. Hear about the oldest getting stitches in his chin (when he fell at 3 in the morning. No, I didn’t ask…would you??). Bills to pay. Laundry to do. House to clean. Groceries needed.

And writing. I must get back into my writing routine. I plotted a lot on vacation. Wrote down notes. But not a WORD written on my proposal.

I think I’ll be crabby this week… :biteme:

AAAACCCKKK…Sorry, had to scoop myself up off the floor in horror. We live, breathe and eat cars in my house.. I love buying new cars. Don’t like paying for them…but I love nothing more than car shopping.

Funny, when I get back from vacation I’m thrilled to be home. I love routine and familiarity so coming home offers comfort. Not that I don’t like to get away, but home is where my heart is.

Sorry about the new car thing. I don’t mind doing it. But I hear you on the rental car thing – we never get anything exciting either.

Hope the week turns out better than you expect

Welcome back, Kacey, but hugs on the re-entry. It’s a shock, isn’t it? Hugs on the car problems, too. Hey, I have a red car!! I hate it , but it’s red.

Tori September 18, 2005 at 11:07 am

Hugs on the car problems!!! But welcome home!!!

Kelly C. September 18, 2005 at 11:29 am

Sorry the vacation is over, Kacey! Real life is sometimes the pits. 😉

I’m with you on the red thing. Oh, and it’s got to be way off the ground.
Whenever I start bringing in some money more than sporadically, this Mama is going for the jacked-up, red truck. hehehe
Something to look forward to.
And you just be as crabby as you want. You’re entitled.
Grins*

Welcome back! You may be bummed to be back but we’re happy to see you. (No, it’s not that we’re happy to see the end of your endless, jealousy-inducing photos…no, really….)

Getting back into the routine sucks rocks. Hope your week goes better than you expect.

Olga September 18, 2005 at 6:54 pm

Welcome back! Yes, real life is hard to deal with!Hugs on car problems, and I don’t like car shopping either! But then I don’t like shopping, period! Hope you find a good one!

Michelle September 18, 2005 at 7:05 pm

Hugs on the car, Kacey! Hope you can find something reasonable.

Steph T. September 18, 2005 at 8:50 pm

Welcome back! I hope it gets a little smoother as the week goes on. Don’t worry – the proposal will come to you…:typing:

And Rene, I thought I was the only one who actually liked coming home from vacations.:grin:I get where you’re coming from!

Lory September 18, 2005 at 10:02 pm

Welcome back! I love Ft. Walton :cool2:and I hate buying new cars  so I’m with you! Be just as cranky as you wanna be!!!

you know, I usually LOVE to come home from vacations. I’m a real homebody. But this was so relaxing and so fun. We did NOTHING all day. And I really needed it. It’s hard to get back into the go, go, go routine of real life.

Mary September 19, 2005 at 7:51 am

It’s hard to come home from vacations. But sometimes I’m homesick so that makes it easier.

Sharon September 19, 2005 at 8:05 am

Welcome home!

Emma S September 19, 2005 at 10:46 am

Welcome Home! And go ahead and be just as crabby as you want. After vacation crabbiness isn’t just a right, it’s a neccessity. :cursing:

I hate car shopping. It always seems that every car we buy has problems a few weeks after we buy it. I hate paying the sales tax and the license fees. 😡 When I pay off the car I have (another year and four months), I will keep it until it eventually crumbles.
Now if I had money, then I wouldn’t mind buying cars. But really, I don’t need anything fancy. I just want it to be reliable!!! (well, and look decent, too).

Danica September 19, 2005 at 6:11 pm

Is your minivan a Dodge Caravan? I’m having the exact same problem with mine. My FIL finally rigged a switch for me so I can hot wire it whenever I need to (without the mess of hotwiring). I’m hoping that we can get a new one this spring. (After my new house… priorities, it’s all in the priorities)

Teresa September 19, 2005 at 6:19 pm

I love my explorer. When I ride in a car now it just feels wierd.

Welcome home!

kacey September 19, 2005 at 8:20 pm

It’s a Chrysler Town and Country. I wanted to drive it until it would drive no more…which I think I have

I’m trying out a Subaru Forester today. I like it. Still fairly high off the ground. Rated really safe. But it’s blue, not red :mrgreen:

LoryKC September 22, 2005 at 10:35 pm

I’ve had a Forester. Silver, but other than that it was great.
Loved it! (Just didn’t last long in this family but no car ever has. I’m married to the king of leasing. There’s always something a little better, you know?) 🙄
