I’m back!

by Kay~Kacey on 1/4/2006

A new year. A new month. I really enjoyed my month off. Kind of freeing to give myself a month off and not feel guilty. Ease up on some of the crazy holiday stress. Call me crazy, :crazy2: but I also didn’t bake any Christmas cookies this year. 😯

Now we’re on to the new year. New goals. My critique group does awesome goal making. We post them to each other and do check ins every so often to see how we’re doing. I’m upping my number of proposals I want out there at all times this year. And I’m branching out to more publishers/lines.

So do you start the new year off with goals?

Sharon January 4, 2006 at 5:46 pm

Yay! Details woman, details. How many proposals? What lines?

I want to write 3 SIM proposals in the first quarter of this year while Im waiting to hear back on my full. Depending on how that goes, I’ll sub one of my proposals and work on finishing while I wait to hear.

Happy New Year and welcome back! I did start off the New Year with some goals. A lot to list here, but I did post about them New Year’s Eve on my blog.

Welcome Back Kacey!! Hope you’re nice and relaxed to start th enew year.

I don’t really have goals. I mean, I do, but at this point they’re all based on some else that’s out of my control that I’m just waiting on.

Amy K January 4, 2006 at 9:11 pm

Yep, lists of goals, personal and professional. :cool2:

Welcome back! We were about to send out a search party!

Michelle January 4, 2006 at 9:16 pm

Welcome back, Kacey! Good luck with the new year and those goals!

And yes, my critique group is GREAT about goals.

Melissa Marsh January 4, 2006 at 10:41 pm

Glad you’re back, Kacey, and glad your month off was awesome!

My only goal this year is easy – finish the manuscript. :typing: I’m pretty horrible at goals and do better if I just take a laid back attitude towards them.

Kelly January 5, 2006 at 8:23 am

My goals group posts our yearly goals each January and we do weekly goals as well and check in with each other daily to see how we’re doing. It’s great having that support. Keeps you from feeling like you’re alone in the ether.

Teresa January 5, 2006 at 9:47 am

You bet!!! I even have a file for them!!! I want to plot, FDin30D then write a new ms – which will mean lots of work :typing:

Tori Lennox January 5, 2006 at 9:58 am

I haven’t done my goals yet for this year, but I need to before my critique group smacks me. :mad2:

Mary January 5, 2006 at 10:49 am

Glad you are back and good luck on the goal setting. I do that every year.

Tess Harrison January 5, 2006 at 12:44 pm

Welcome back!! Here’s looking for a successful new year to you.

Kelly P. January 5, 2006 at 12:46 pm

Welcome back, Kacey, and good luck with your new goals!

Yep, I’m always aiming for a new goal after each one is accomplished. I’m the type of person who needs to have a destination or a payoff in the end to get my butt moving. 😆

Rene January 5, 2006 at 2:07 pm

So glad you are back.

My resolutions are simple as befitting a simple woman like myself:

Write everyday
lose weight.

PJ January 5, 2006 at 3:49 pm

Go, Kacey! This is YOUR year! It’s gonna happen. Watch and see. Keep the faith and don’t give up!

LoryKC January 6, 2006 at 11:14 am

My goals are the same as Rene’s!
I said I’d start the year with a schedule for each day so I’d be more accountable for what I spend my time on.
Baby steps…I’m getting more done but still haven’t completed that schedule!
Oh…and one more goal…to get join a critique group!

Cece January 6, 2006 at 7:13 pm

Olga January 8, 2006 at 12:41 am

Welcome back! Nope, I don’t set up goals, but best of luck for yours! I hope you’ll have a great and very productive 2006!

Le Ellis January 9, 2006 at 10:58 am

Glad you’re back!!! Best wishes on your new writing goals. I always make new goals every year. Well, I guess I don’t wait for Jan. 1. I’m always making goals, revising goals, etc…
