Some progress

by Kay~Kacey on 3/13/2006

Well, the ME ME ME is going a bit better. I’m almost finished with the lace “shawlette” that I started from my online lace knitting class.

And my dh and I discovered 24. We’re busy watching the first season on DVD. What’s not to like? No commercials. Watch as many in a row as we want. We have like 4 more left on the first season. I’m not even sure we’ll watch in on real TV when we get caught up. Just might wait for the DVDs to come out. Lovely way to watch TV…

The writing is….tortuous…which is a really appropriate word. Twisting. Circuitous. I swear once I have a proposal nailed down I can write the rest of the book fairly quickly. But the plotting and the emotional arc and making sure the conflicts are strong enough to sustain the whole book. ARGH. I do think it takes me longer to write the proposal and synoposis than write the rest of the book. Though I usually try for about 75-100 pages when I’m writing the proposal. Then cut it back to 3 chapters. But then I have about 100 pages written at that stage.

Well, how is ME ME ME March working for you?

Isn’t it great to find a new show? I found Boston Legal a few weeks ago and LOVE it. Have informed DH we’re getting Season 1 on DVD. It’s a show we’ll both enjoy – I mean, who CAN’T enjoy William Shatner, Candice Bergen and James Spader?????

Good luck with the writing. I hate the stage you’re at. Which is why I’m still working on planning my new one, so I don’t have to actually write it yet

As for ME, ME, ME, March – with Sean away this last week, I’ve actually got a lot of stuff done just for me. Fair amount on the ms, playing with software, spending quality time with the cats and a couple of nice walks in the spring air :cool2:

ME ME ME March is going okay, I guess. Still working on my new bedroom & bath. 🙂

I’m hanging in there. It’s been a weird month!

Glad you’re getting some writing done. I think I watched one episode of 24 during it’s first season, but since I don’t get cable and elected not to get an antennae for my t.v., I don’t watch much of anything except my daughter’s movies. 🙂

I love 24! That and LOST. 🙂 Me-me-me March…um…well, I’m finishing a book for myself to prove that it can’t conquer me. I roofed a shed to prove that I could do anything my husband could. :coffee2: Now, I need to book a spa appointment for myself some time soon. Ahhh…

My tv watching is pretty sparse. It comes in fits and jerks. Right now, the only thing I follow is “Desperate Housewives” and “The Sopranos.”

Writing is in fits and jerks. Some days are better than others. Mentally, it is a challenge writing a historical not only because the work itself requires a different thought process but the difficulty of selling in the historical market is so daunting. But, got write what you do best at.

ME ME ME March huh . . . Wish I’d known earlier.:mad2:

But the weekend was great. I got to oogle half naked hockey players. But the writing . . . painful.:crazy2:

I find writing a 5 page synopsis harder than writing a 400 page book. It’s pure torture. I can get it to sound right in my head but when I try to write it out, it gets all jumbled and discombobulated. It drives me mad.
:cursing:

Um, well, it’s…going. Actually, too fast. I need more time!

I take FOREVER on proposals too. And then I still write the book differently. :shakehead:

ME ME ME March is not working for me. How bout I do a ME ME ME May when tax season is over?

I discovered several shows I love to watch and several that disappointed me. “Grey’s Anatomy” falls into the first group – it just gets better and better!
