creative visualization

by Kay~Kacey on 4/3/2006

so, do any of you do/use creative visualization? Do you picture yourself where you want to be? Throw the positive energy out there and see what happens? Believe in synchronicity?

It was the staring out at the beach, I swear. It just seems like you connect to everything and believe that anything is possible.

Anyone ever read Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain. Interesting read. All sorts of ideas about creative visualization and affirmations.

Basically you 1) define your goal 2) picture it clearly 3) Focus on it often to give it positive energy.

It’s based on the idea that the physical universe is energy, and energy is magnetic…like attracts like. Gawain’s idea is kind of like : you simply put your idea/goal out clearly to the universe where you would like to go, and then patiently and harmoniously follow the flow of the river of life until it takes you there.

Kind of woo woo. Kind of cool. Have you ever tried anything like that? Done affirmations? Had a really cool synchronicity thing happen to you?

Hmm, well I’ve definitely set goals but I never patiently waited to be guided there! 😆 I’m more of see that goal over there, I’m going to kick butt till I get there.

Kacey – yep, I do it all the time 🙂 Especially things I’m worrying about coming in the future – I just picture myself AFTER the stressful incident and focus on that 🙂 Like when we go away and leave the cats, I picture coming home and finding them both ok. Works like a charm much of the time.

As for synchronicity, I totally believe in it and have experienced it many times.

I always visualize what it will be like once I’m published. How I’ll schedule my time, how I’ll meet deadlines, the promotion I’ll do, etc. Makes it feel more real than just a vague idea.

Ummm….I try to see myself in my goals and all I get is me, Hugh Jackman, foo foo drinks and a beach. When I picture myself a published author, I realize I need to lose 30 lbs. before I get my author’s photo taken.

I just write and try not to think of goals because it interferes with my writing.

I usually don’t do this – but maybe I should start.

I love positive visualization. I think it makes a difference in everything you do. :coffee2:

Actually, I haven’t tried that, but it sounds like a great idea!

I think there’s something to it. I think you have to do more than just put it out there (you know, like write that best-selling novel) :crazy2: but I do think the idea has merit. Even if not, it sure makes me feel better.

I looove staring at the ocean, btw. So much energy and power and yet so soothing at the same time. Ahh.
