So I met this amazing woman at National. Karen Schwartz. Who sold after 27 years of writing. Now, those of you who know me, know I’ve been writing a long time. Long time. (keep meaning to email RWA and find out when I joined. 1990? maybe?) And I haven’t sold. Along with that goes the questions “do I suck at this?” “why HER and not ME?” “Am I ever going to sell?” etc. etc. :blah:
Okay, so I admit there were a few lean writing years in the middle of that time, but mostly I’ve been writing. And kick ass seriously again the last 4 years or so.
So when Karen sat across from me (in a bar, yes, why do you ask) and told me her story, I was greatly inspired. She was up for the Golden Heart. And recently sold to Avon. She has a cool website.
So for those of us who have been at it for quite awhile. Get close but no cigar. Here’s to Karen, with her inspiring story. And I’ll be out buying CLAIMING THE COURTESAN in April of 07. Karen, here’s to you!
That’s an awesome story!!! Very inspiring!!!
Yay for Karen! And Kacey, I swear it’s going to happen to you SOON. Dammit. Keep the faith, GF!
How cool! And probably the best story I heard was at the bar too. Funny how that works. 🙂
That is inspiring. It does show you should never give up.
