Always one more

Important Mysteries of the Universe…

more laundry

Why is it that no matter how hard I try…there is ALWAYS one more load of laundry to do?? And while we’re asking questions, why is it always dumped on my kitchen floor, just sitting there to be stepped over…

(if you missed yesterday’s post, don’t forget to go and vote in the May Photo of the Month contest! You better be sending your friends…the competition is tough this month!)

We’re both going to miss those clothes on the floor next year!

I was going to ask why it was in the kitchen??? But, I do feel your pain. It asexually reproduces in my house.

I hear ya!
Never ending piles at my house too.
Now I don’t feel so alone, I thought it was just my family who can’t remember where the hamper is!

Once or twice, I have actually reached that state of grace where there is no dirty laundry. However, then the problem becomes: “How do I fit all these clean clothes in the dresser drawers?” Be careful what you wish for. 🙂

the laundry is on the kitchen floor because my laundry room is right off the kitchen. But if the laundry is on the utility room floor, you can’t get out the door to the garage. I know. Great setup, huh?

I hear you! Ugghh, the very thought of laundry makes me ill. It reproduces exponentially here at my house., AND thanks to DrillSgt, it is NEVER completely finished. My dad taught me how to do my own laundry when I was 10, folding everything “the right way” included. I passed on my skills to my sister, made her a cheat chart and everything. We’ve both hated doing laundry since then—LOL!!

MamáChanga June 4, 2008 at 10:47 am

BTW, my laundry room is outside (horrible to do laundry when it’s raining) but you’ve given me a thought, maybe I should just throw all my dirty clothes outside?!

Shimmy Mom June 4, 2008 at 11:02 am

I want to know the same thing!
And while we’re at it. How do I convince the six year old that she doesn’t need to change her clothes seven times a day? And the oldest boy -that he doesn’t need to use a whole kitchen’s worth of dishes everyday?!

Laundry at my house seems never ending…

Just Sunday I did about five loads.. : /

No matter how much I wash, there’s always more — or the next day the hamper is filled up again!

annbb June 4, 2008 at 3:33 pm

Kitchen floor, steps, bathroom floor (quasi understandable), family room…on and on. I swear dirty clothes are related to rabbits!
:crazy2: CRAZY, I tell you! it drives me CRAZY! :crazy2:

I have been doing laundry for literally 4 straight days… and I’m still not done! I think they are like bunnies… reporducing on their own! LOL

Oh and our laundry area is right by the garage door. We are constantly stepping on dirty clothes to get in/out. Who thinks of these things when building? A great builder should consult a mom to know what the perfect floor plan would be!

I see your house is like mine–the shirts do not jump into the washer by themselves here either, I have to pick them up!

This Eclectic Life June 4, 2008 at 8:28 pm

Why is it that at my house, one sock always manages to escape the washer? And, where do socks go when they disappear in the wash? 🙄

Elizabeth June 4, 2008 at 10:39 pm

Yes, these are life’s great questions. I ponder that regularly.

The tasks of motherhood are like stringing beads on a necklace…when you forgot to knot the end.

My laundry is right between my kitchen and garage, too. Proof that the house was designed by A MAN.

Treasia June 5, 2008 at 9:07 am

We have a rule in our house “If it doesn’t make the hamper, it doesn’t make the washer”. Do this a few times and they will learn to put it where it goes.
