So do you ever go back and read your old blog posts and see what was going on in your life last year? Well, I was wondering about what the weather had been like last February, and I thought to myself, “self, go back and read your blog for February 2008.” Since I always listen to myself, off I went…
I shot one of my favorite ever photos out my office window last February.
The birds weren’t really digging the snow and cold either:
Then I found this shot that I shared with you last February. It wasn’t taken in February. I wish. But I shared it in February, that counts, right?
Which, of course, got me thinking of “why the heck am I growing out my hair??” ‘Cause I really, really like my hair short… (see how I can digress from I wonder what the weather was like last year to my hair is driving me insane??)
Then I shared two recipes with you! Hey, if I’m snowed in, I cook.
Yum, toasted panini cheese bread.
Oh, and Easy 1 2 3 Bread.
Never did get a shot of the finished loaf…it was swarmed by 20 something year old males and devoured…
Then, we finished out the month with this. Sigh.
Out in Palm Desert visiting my parents. I sure wish we were out there right now. I bet they are having sunny, hot weather. My sister, the lucky duck, is going out to visit them this week. How fair is that?
Well, that is how I amused myself…avoiding looking out the window here…where we’re supposed to have snow showers. Sigh.
Almost 4 inches north of KC Saturday – and still no sign of a snow plow. Grrrr.
I’ve always loved that deer photo. I never did get around to making the beer bread; but as soon as my Lenten fast from flour is over, I’ll treat myself to it!
My blogging anniversary is coming up soon so soon I will be able to celebrate my life as it was one year ago.
P.S. I like your hair a bit longer.
Happy Sunday
Hmm. We were having the same wacky weather this time last year as we’re having now.
That beer bread adds an interesting texture as french toast if anyone is interested. Oh and egg nog works well as the egg wash if it is still on the grocery shelves. I haven’t tried it as panini bread yet…hmmm.
I make your beer bread all the time! And I am jonesing for some fritos now.
I’ve had your beer bread at MPM’s house and it is delicious!
Isn’t it fun to look back. Look back through old blogs, old photos, old magazines or old movies. There is just something fun about looking back and reliving the times.
Oh, I remember that photo of the deer! Beautiful. Actually, I’ve been looking through my spring and summer posts — I need a little hope right now. We’re supposed to get 6-10 inches of the crappy stuff… Can you tell I’m so over winter? 😉
xoxo,
Mary
I am enjoying reading your blogs about past blogs! Especially since this is when I first began reading blogs as therapy and discovering how much self-discovery, comfort, and just plain fun blogs were. And your blog was one of the 5 I was reading! You still look great, short or long hair! Thanks….
I would also like to say that your ongoing loving and admiring ( and sometimes puzzled ) remarks about your Superguy made me check in regularly! Spouses who love each other so very much are such an encouragement and blessing to others. And yes…men are often a puzzlement to me too.
