Rough ReEntry

by Kay~Kacey on 7/29/2009

You know how it is when you come home from a magnificient trip? The rough re-entry problems? The adjustment back to real life? They way little things have a way of piling up on you?

For instance, say…the guy you contracted with to build your retaining wall–and he’s been stalling for 7 weeks on, you know, actually DOING the job. Swears he’ll be there first thing Monday morning. He’s a no show. Again. Lots of excuses. You have to start all over from square one finding a new guy and getting a new estimate.

SuperGuy’s new truck (yay!!–I’ll let him show you photos) is supposed to be ready first thing Monday morning. You guessed it. Even though the dealer had it for 5 days, they didn’t manage to finish the things they were supposed to do to it. Lots of excuses.

There is laundry to be done…and you forget to put the load in the dryer that has the outfit you wanted to wear to the Muny Opera. The Muny Opera had Camelot…which I thought I loved. This version? Long and not so great. Lasted forever…

You miss the turn to the house that you’ve lived in for years coming home after above mentioned Camelot really, really late. You oversleep the next morning. Poor SuperGuy rushed around and fled out the door to work.

manual-focus

You can’t figure out what the heck is broken on your camera. You panic. Cry. Panic. Then realize it got switched to manual focus on the trip back home. I figured this photo was so classic that I just HAD to watermark it…. :toofunny:

road-resurface

Lets not forget that they decided to pick today to resurface the subdivision. With tar and this icky, chunky rock stuff. Hello? What kind of resurfacing is this?? We used to have concrete streets…I sure miss them. Oh, and now I have bits of tar on my car and all these tiny rocks knocking around my wheel wells…and worse yet…it’s on SuperGuy’s new truck…which he finally got a day later.

Someone decided it was a great idea to let their dog poop all over our driveway. Nice. I decided to spare you a photo of that…

Had to go to the Apple store with The Geeky One to get his new iPhone. They wouldn’t let him get it since the account is in my name. (we have a family plan) Then they insisted my bill wasn’t paid and I had to call AT&T and get that straightened out. It was. I pay my bills you jerkfaces.

I’m thinking about now would be a good time to go out and take another vacation.

It’s nothing big, just the constant pitter patter of annoyances. It’s raining now, so I have to go get out my big bowl and beach towel and go protect my desk…

Ah, yes, tomorrow is another day… Do you have days like this??

Oh, Lord in Heaven, do I ever.

It will get better. If everything was great it would be difficult to believe your blog. Seriously.

You’ve been chip sealed! They went around doing that all over here a year ago.. it sucked, since the oil got EVERYWHERE and was completely impossible to get off 🙁

Oh I HATE days like that. I’m so sorry. Go back to bed, pull the covers over your head, and don’t come out till Saturday.

Lol- I like the part about not knowing what you did to your camera… then finding it was in manual focus

:secret: To remove the tar from your car, spray it with WD-40. It should slide off without damaging your paint. Just a little tip!

Kacey July 29, 2009 at 7:34 pm

Yes, the manual focus was just pure exhaustion coming through. Duh.

Kacey July 29, 2009 at 7:39 pm

Just testing my comments…messing with the theme. Sorry!

Mayonaise is supposed to remove oil compounds well also. maybe nicer on the finish. There is also “bug and tar remover” available in the car section of department stores. but enough about that. The stuff got on my new truck!!!!!
