This past weekend I went to a workshop on off camera flash. I learned a ton both from the workshop presenter and the other ladies taking the class. The workshop was given by Ali Hohn a Northfield, Minnesota photographer . She taught us how to use both off camera speedlights as well as using Alien Bee strobe lights. We had lots of time to experiment and do our own setups.
The photographer who organized the workshop here, Teri Stoff, a St. Louis photographer, did a great job lining up models for us. I’d love to get more into the senior market…taking photos for high school seniors, so I thought I’d show you a few of my favorite senior shots from the weekend. This girl was amazing and self-assured…not to mention so pretty! I hadn’t gotten into the dramatic lighting like this before, so it was really interesting to learn this.
She had such darling outfits too! Check out the cute red shoes. This shoot was at the Flamingo bowling alley. Such fun!
This photo was taken at the City Museum. Such cool places to take photos!
This was taken in the lobby of the Moonrise Hotel that we stayed at. How cool is that stairway?? This senior did such a great job with pulling off limbs akimbo poses, didn’t she?
Anyway, I had a great time. I’ll be posting more of the shots over on my photography blog. I’ll let you know when I have more photos edited if you want to see them over there.
I was exhausted after the workshop and I didn’t stay up as late as the other ladies! I can do okay with one night of little sleep…but that’s about it. Most of them were, oh, say 15 years younger than I am, give or take. I feel very young at heart, but I so I didn’t even TRY to keep up the second night! I used to be able to do that, but not any longer. Sigh. Well, back to going through my hundreds and hundreds of photos that I took…
Beautiful shots. That sounds like a fun market to get into.
Wow! Very impressive!
