tag lines and branding

by Kay~Kacey on 6/22/2005

Okay, so this has been beaten to death…but… do any of you have tag lines that you use on your promo stuff, website, business cards?

Like Suzanne McMinn’s “Romance with an edge of Danger”

I working on coming up with one for relationshipy romances ™ Like SuperRomance, or Silhouette Special Edition, or single title character driven stories. Any ideas?

I have a degree in marketing..you’d think my brain would help me out on this. But for some reason this summer, my mind just refuses to make decisions… :biteme:

I had the hardest time coming up with my weak one, which may change if I ever get pubbed. “Modern…Fresh…Fiction”/”Modern…Fresh…Romantic Suspense

So maybe…now these maybe corny–beware! :crazy2:

“Romance From The Heart”

“Relationships To Count On”

“Love, Family, and Sizzling Romance”

LOL Raine and I brainstormed for like 30 minutes. “I steal cats” didn’t go over too well  so we settled on “Seduction and Suspense” short and to the point. You notice I don’t have one either :cool2:

Cece June 22, 2005 at 10:15 pm

LOL PS I love the new background!

Sasha June 23, 2005 at 1:21 am

I use “Romance with Heat, Erotica with heart.” :lips:

Not even sure how I came up with it. LOL

Michelle June 23, 2005 at 5:42 am

I like that, Sasha!

Kacey–mine are historicals, so I basically use “Read a book by Michelle to experience a love story that spans history.”

Good luck!

Kelly, no those aren’t corny! I’m impressed anyone can come up with these.

Cece…”I steal cats” well, at least it’s original  And thanks, I like the background too. kind of picnic baskety, don’t you think? Fits in with my wine them…kind of :coffee2:

Sasha, yours is good!

Michelle, I like yours too.

I have yet to figure out just what the heck I’m actually writing so I haven’t come up with a tagline yet. But Michelle came up with a fun one for me yesterday:

Saucy, quirky prose with a dash of fun!

And Katie came up with this for the book I’m working on right now:

Sexy gods, heavenly shoes, and tons of saucy fun!

(As you can see, “saucy” was the word of the day.

Hmm…let’s see…mine would be something along the lines of “Historical romance laced with suspense and intrigue.” That might be too much, though. :blah:

I don’t have one. The thought of a tag line always makes me hyperventilate. I need to hire someone to create one for me.

But Cece’s “I steal cats” has my ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!\

Personally, I think you should go with Relationshipy Romance.

I’m in the same boat. I have none, and I’m writing the same kind of stories. Everything I come up with sounds like a Superromance slogan I’ve heard somewhere. lol

Good luck with it!

Amy K June 23, 2005 at 1:42 pm

Forgot to say, I also have a degree in marketing. Why are we so slogan-challenged then? :crazy2:

Larissa June 23, 2005 at 9:08 pm

Branding scares me. :crazy2:

But since I write romance with a medical slant, I came up with “Romance with a pulse/Romance with attitude.”

Good luck finding yours. It’s hard! :frown:
