I have a serious dilemma. So, seriously. I got this wonderful milk glass bowl. But the good news, bad news? It still has the original Fenton sticker on it. Okay, that proves it an original.
But I want to wash it up and use it for, you know, food. But that would mess up the sticker… 🙄 I know, I’m a bit nuts about this. So I filled it up with rock eggs for the time being.
But I have a bit of a germ thing, and would really have to wash it well to use it for food… What would you do? Don’t you wish your big dilemmas in life were as important as this one???
I take stickers and stuff off everything. Taking the sticker off may devalue it for resale purposes, but then you can’t actually use it. I assume it’s more valuable to you when you’re using it.
My grandmother left me her diamond dinner ring. One year I brought it to the jewelers to be cleaned. He was aghast that I was actually wearing it everyday. A family heirloom? Yup. I wear it. Everyday. I even do dishes and weed with it. This would make my grandmother very happy.
Is it worth thousands and thousands of dollars? Are you seriously gonna part with it if it’s not worth thousands and thousands? Take the sticker off and enjoy…..it’s worth more to you if you could actually use it, right? Can you remove the sticker without destroying it maybe?
I say the perfect solution would be to use this one for rock eggs and find ANOTHER one for food. After all, you can’t have too much milk glass!
Tracey!! What a perfectly BRILLIANT solution!! Hope SuperGuy sees it. Keep this one for eggs and buy another bowl for food!! I love the way you think!!
Leave the sticker. Use it for show and buy more milk glass.
Now see, I’m with the first two commenters. Take the sticker off and wash the darn thing. It’s a gorgeous bowl. Save the sticker. Maybe stick it on the bottom of the bowl.
I am kind of halfway between both choices. It depends on how much it is worth with and without the sticker. If yu are planning on keeping forever don’t sweat it 😉
I like Tracy’s idea too. 🙂
That’s a tough call for me. I love Fenton glassware and probably would leave the sticker on it (since it’s original) and find another one like it sticker free.
Tracy has good advice.
That is a lovely piece – and I don’t think I could bring myself to remove the tag… 🙁
I think everyone has already solved this one.
I have a lovely Fenton piece that just has to be used. It would be crazy not to use it. I removed the sticker, washed the piece thoroughly, put the sticker on the bottom. It can be put back in the bowl, if my descendants find it necessary to sell. I love using the piece. And. It. is. clean.
Being a minimalist, I use everything I have. If I can’t use it, I don’t need it.
