Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed with learning all I can about photography. I get a bit intimidated when I think I’m in my 50’s and embarking on a new pathway. I’m not sure where it will lead me. But Nightingale was right…the time will pass whether you spend it doing something you want to learn, or not.
I was afraid of the time and energy it would take to tackle my photography. To raise it to a new level. To learn to photograph people and new subjects. To experiment with post processing. To be brave enough to share my photography with others.
But the time passes. We might as well be spending it doing something we love, don’t you think?

You are so right. Do what you love. I am a single mother of 4 children and have worked for corporate America all my working life. I am now 36-did I just say that?- I just left my corporate job, have some money in the savings and am going head first into my own photogaphy business. I am trying to learn all I can, get as many people I can infront of my camera, and post process in error as much as I can. I didn’t just start photography, though. I have been taking photographs of parties, some weddings, and many of my children. I am just now finally taking the step I have always wanted. I know this year will be tough, but I am looking forward to where I will be next year!

This is an amazing photo Kay. You make me want to learn to use my photoshop…I am still a more or less SOOC girl for fear of using the program…now if I could just find the time to sit and learn!
