wine on the keyboard

oh, you want gossip too?

Let’s see. The Literacy Signing was well done. The tables had much more room between them, so it was easier to talk to the authors and long lines at some of the authors didn’t prevent you from getting to the other authors. Well, done!

The bar needs more wait staff. Way more. But we had a lovely waitress last night who was very patient with the crowd. We ordered some bar food and had to wait forever. I guess it came to a surprise the hotel that all these women would need to eat?

I guess we surprised them again this morning…because when I went by the coffee shop there was one lone stale looking bagel left. No other place near here to get quick pick up food. The Cafe had long lines, so if you wanted to catch the Pan or Pro retreat or the workshops..you just didn’t eat I guess.

Luckily we’re on the 5th floor so we can avoid the whole elevator issue after lunches and other high crush time. We take the stairs from the second floor to the 5th. Glad we didn’t get that room on the 20th floor

At the luncheon today, Lisa Kleypas gave a great speech. Very moving. She’s so cute too. You can almost get past the fact she sold her first book at age 21…

The room where we eat is long and skinny, and this year they have the speakers at one of the long ends of the room…so it’s REALLY hard to see the speaker, even on the screen. But, we, of course, still had a great time. The only thing that could have been improved is to switch out the rubber chicken for a good glass of wine :twocents:

Tonight is the welcome reception, and Moonlight and Madness bazaar. And I’m sure we might spend a bit of time in the bar. I’ve FINALLY met Stephanie Tyler, and Larissa Ione. We’ve spent some time with Jan Kenny. And met the infamous Justin Knupp (of Amy Knupp and Stonecreek Media ) Justin also goes by Jason, or Joe. Just ask him.

Wish you were here! Will check in soon with more pics.

I wish I was there, too! Though climbing stairs of any kind is kind of beyond me right now. *g*
