New Theme

by Kay~Kacey on 7/31/2009

Surprise! It’s me!! I installed a new theme on my blog. It’s the Thesis theme. I’ve been messing with it for awhile. WHY did I decided I need the new theme RIGHT. NOW. ??

Because I wanted a bigger content column so I could upload larger pics from the wedding that I went to last weekend. Isn’t that why everyone changes their WordPress theme??

Go with me here… just shake your head and agree with me…

I’ve been busy editing photos from the wedding. I wasn’t the professional photographer, so I tried to be as unobtrusive as I can be. (That is HARD for me!!)

Anyway, I’ll give you a sneak peak.  I’m going to post more photos this weekend. Stay tuned for fun flower girl photos!

Here is the lovely bride…

kari

I know, stunning, right? As an aside (there’s always one, right?) She had this adorable one side hairdo thing. (Can you tell I have boys??). She was supposed to have a gardenia in it after she took off her veil. The florist took the gardenia away after she delivered the flowers!! What’s up with that?? It would have looked lovely, but as you can see, she doesn’t really NEED a flower to look lovely.

katie

This is her adorable sister. I love these girls. Seriously, I’ve always wanted them for MY daughters. They are fun and can hold their own with my boys when we vacation together. Which is saying a lot! I love them. Bunches.

sue

This is my dear friend. She is the kindest, funnest, warm hearted friend you could ever hope for. We were trying to figure out how long we’ve known each other. We’re thinking it’s edging up on 30 years. Do you have a friend like that? One you don’t see because of distance, but when you talk to them you pick up right where you left off the last time? Her only drawback is that she wouldn’t let me have her daughters as my own…

Does she not look like you’d love to have her as a friend. Sorry, you can’t. She’s mine. The wedding was outside at a lovely resort in Denver, then the reception was on an outdoor patio with a beautiful white canopy over it. Just lovely.

Well, yes, there are males in the family too…whatever.

You know I have my own contingent of males, and don’t need any more of them!

Anyway, having a larger layout for pics of the wedding seemed like a good enough reason for me to get moving and update my website.

Let me know if anything doesn’t work for you here on Wine on the Keyboard. I still have a lot of fine tuning to do. I’ll work on it some more this weekend.  If you haven’t already, be sure to submit your Red, White, or Blue photo for the photo of the month contest!

Rough ReEntry

by Kay~Kacey on 7/29/2009

You know how it is when you come home from a magnificient trip? The rough re-entry problems? The adjustment back to real life? They way little things have a way of piling up on you?

For instance, say…the guy you contracted with to build your retaining wall–and he’s been stalling for 7 weeks on, you know, actually DOING the job. Swears he’ll be there first thing Monday morning. He’s a no show. Again. Lots of excuses. You have to start all over from square one finding a new guy and getting a new estimate.

SuperGuy’s new truck (yay!!–I’ll let him show you photos) is supposed to be ready first thing Monday morning. You guessed it. Even though the dealer had it for 5 days, they didn’t manage to finish the things they were supposed to do to it. Lots of excuses.

There is laundry to be done…and you forget to put the load in the dryer that has the outfit you wanted to wear to the Muny Opera. The Muny Opera had Camelot…which I thought I loved. This version? Long and not so great. Lasted forever…

You miss the turn to the house that you’ve lived in for years coming home after above mentioned Camelot really, really late. You oversleep the next morning. Poor SuperGuy rushed around and fled out the door to work.

manual-focus

You can’t figure out what the heck is broken on your camera. You panic. Cry. Panic. Then realize it got switched to manual focus on the trip back home. I figured this photo was so classic that I just HAD to watermark it…. :toofunny:

road-resurface

Lets not forget that they decided to pick today to resurface the subdivision. With tar and this icky, chunky rock stuff. Hello? What kind of resurfacing is this?? We used to have concrete streets…I sure miss them. Oh, and now I have bits of tar on my car and all these tiny rocks knocking around my wheel wells…and worse yet…it’s on SuperGuy’s new truck…which he finally got a day later.

Someone decided it was a great idea to let their dog poop all over our driveway. Nice. I decided to spare you a photo of that…

Had to go to the Apple store with The Geeky One to get his new iPhone. They wouldn’t let him get it since the account is in my name. (we have a family plan) Then they insisted my bill wasn’t paid and I had to call AT&T and get that straightened out. It was. I pay my bills you jerkfaces.

I’m thinking about now would be a good time to go out and take another vacation.

It’s nothing big, just the constant pitter patter of annoyances. It’s raining now, so I have to go get out my big bowl and beach towel and go protect my desk…

Ah, yes, tomorrow is another day… Do you have days like this??
