Where Does the Time Go?

by Kay~Kacey on 9/22/2012

Just yesterday he was my baby…

I know, super cute kid, right?

Well, he had his moments of rebellion and really. bad. hair. (though I love the curls…)

Here he is with Louie. Louie is pretty darn cute too!

Though…this picture just about captures Timmy’s impishness and humor…acting like he’s going to shoot an egg as his momma.

Happy Birthday, sweetie! You are my favorite!! (make good choices and don’t over do it…you know, remember the saying “What would Matthew do.” ย )

Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park

by Kay~Kacey on 9/21/2012

We just got back from a very brief trip to Estes Park. Love it out there. While out there we took a short hike to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Such fun. The trails winds by three lakes.

Nymph Lake

It was just gorgeous with all the lilies floating in the lake.

My sister and brother-in-law and my niece went with SuperGuy and I on the hike. I think they are all a bit tired of the bazillion times I stopped to take photos… This next one ย is Dream Lake. (I think…my sister has me so confused on the order of the lakes on this hike…)

This one is either looking down on Nymph Lake or Dream Lake (once again, blame my sister…)

It was perfect weather, and a not very long hike. My sister, brother-in-law, and niece are hard core hikers, so this was more of a stroll for them. My sister commented on how weird/strange/nice it was to actually stop and enjoy the views on a hike… :hysterical:

Emerald Lake

Emerald Lake…well, you can see where it got its name. Such a beautiful color. After reaching Emerald Lake…some of the hikers had to take a brief nap in the sun…

Not to disappoint…of course I got a pointing photo. Oh…and a glamour shot of my sister… ๐Ÿ˜‰

My sister, my brother-in-law, my niece and I all went to Cheley Camp in Estes Park when we were kids. So Estes holds a special place for all of us. We had a fabulous time, and I’m ready to go back right now. Seriously! I need to go to the mountains every so often to recharge my soul.

New House Construction Update

by Kay~Kacey on 9/17/2012

We just got back from a short vacation in Estes Park with my sister and brother-in-law…and the first thing we did when we got back is go out to see the new house, of course. Since so many people have bugged me for new photos of the progress–you know who you are… ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย I thought I’d update with construction photos before I show vacation photos.

So they got some of the tile work finished while we were gone…along with the trim around the fireplace and the mantel. Isn’t it pretty??

The kitchen cabinets are in and part of the countertop. We’re having a cherry countertop made for the island. SuperGuy was going to make it, but he ran out of time. We picked out some old fashioned glass for that glass front cabinet. The kind with blips and a few bubbles in it.

Next up? My beloved pantry! Isn’t it great?? Look at all that storage space. It has a small counter in it too (covered with cardboard in this photo) for our coffee maker, toaster, etc. We only had them build in one side of the pantry for now. I want to live in the house for a bit, before we figure out what to do with the other side and what we want to store in there. So SuperGuy will build out the other side for me.

Here you can see that the pantry is right off the kitchen. Sigh. A big pantry, can it get any better than that??

They trimmed out around the windows too. Not painted yet, and the crown moulding should go up this week, but it looks so pretty!

They tiled around my jetted tub and our master bath shower. So nice!!tile around bathtub

Oh, and let me show off my interior doors. I just love them. Different than the normal 4 or 6 white panel doors. The double doors…interior doors

…and the single door. ย I just love the beadb0ard appearance and the rounded top panel. They’ll get painted this next week…or the next. Yay!

Okay, there is the new house construction update! I’m getting excited. It keeps getting closer and closer to completion! We’re going to have a moving party…anyone want to come to it?? They’ll be lots of boxes and furniture…and beer ๐Ÿ˜‰
