Really, in the midst of the craziness that is getting ready for vacation…I did a jigsaw puzzle. Just because.
This one was so much fun. Lots of different images that Norman Rockwell drew. I love Norman Rockwell. We have a ton of his drawings from the front of magazines at my parents lakehouse. They just make me smile. He takes just a little slice of life and illustrates it…kind of like what I like to do with my photography.
I love finding just the right piece. Just the right color. Just the right shape. Finding the spot for that funny look piece that I just couldn’t figure out where it was going to fit in.
Well, I’m sure I’ll go back to packing for vacation…you know, while watching to see where hurricane Katia is going to hit…please let it miss the Carolinas…She should just go out to sea, don’t you think? I really do seem to be a jinx when I plan my vacations…
Look what I got from the fabulous Annie?
I heart Annie! A surprise gift! (from one of my favorite Antique Malls, no less!) She was in Columbia visiting family and left these at SuperGuy’s office for me!
Aren’t they pretty?? But, guess what?
I think I love the bottom of the bowls the most with their pretty flower pattern!!
Thank you so much, Annie! You’re the best! We’ll catch up with each other next time you’re in town!
(As an aside…oh my GOSH! It’s SEPTEMBER!!! Where did August go??–notice a trend with me when the month changes?)
As another aside….could I use any more exclamation points in one post???!!!

So when we go visit SuperGuy’s Mom and sister in Lexington, we drive through Louisville. Right at the river there are these tile murals and I finally remembered to have my camera out and ready to take photos!
Okay, not the best photo…but I couldn’t convince SuperGuy to stop in the middle of the interstate. (really, he should be more supportive of my photography, shouldnt’ he?? :toofunny: ) But you can kind of see here that the tiles are arranged to suggest images of Mohammad Ali. (okay, so we’ve been going past that for years, and I had to Google what it was. I just knew it was faces.)
This side I always thought was runners…but I guess it’s boxers 😉
When you get up close to it, it just looks like a tile wall. Kind of like magic!
Okay, darnit, you can still see the faces vaguely on this one…once again, SuperGuy would not stop on the freeway…
There you have it. Another road trip adventure with Kacey and SuperGuy!
