This is the land behind The Love Nest…after they stripped it to put in a sewer system…and did nothing to reforest the area. But we’re assured we’re not on a flood plain… You can see the creek in the far background, and this fork that comes off of it in front. Then this mess of a flooded area…
This is a FORK of the creek that runs behind our house…
Yep, I’m not feeling the love about the whole “not in a flood plain.” This was a heavy storm, but not in even close to the heaviest. storm. ever. I’m a bit worried…
Yes, I’m just a tad stressed…
…and some of it is silly stuff. Like these pretty flowers. That bloomed now…which means they’ll just be silly looking stalks by the time we have the rehearsal dinner. Okay, not a big deal, but annoys me.
Or the faucet in the boys’ bathroom upstairs. That leaks. And needs to be replaced. And my handyman SuperGuy just canNOT get it. The plumbing system in there needs to be redone for the new faucets. But SuperGuy leaves tomorrow to go out of town. So…I’m thinking a fern or ivy in the one leaky sink…and they can use the other sink, right?
Or the fact that the youngest Texas Boy is bringing his new girlfriend to town with him. I’ve never met her, but SuperGuy has and says he really likes her. Okay. But I have a room with a twin bed for her to sleep in. I only have twin sheets like um, Ninja Turtles or Mario Brothers. Okay. So I went out and bought pretty new twin sheets. I’ve been meaning to anyway to fix the room up into a cute guest room. Oh, and new pillows and a cute little white coverlet. (because, really, who in their right mind turns me loose in Bed, Bath & Beyond when I’m in a dither??) I hope she’s okay with sharing the one working sink with everyone…
I’m obsessively checking the weather forecast. They are forecasting great weather for next Thursday, The Magnificent Rehearsal Dinner. ™ But we know how accurate that is this far out.
SuperGuy is headed to Columbia tomorrow, but I’m staying here because we have family coming in starting Thursday night.
And The Impish One comes to town Thursday too. But THAT is another whole story for another blog post, bless his heart and his stitched up arm.
The thing I’m wondering??? How does anyone survive being the mother of the BRIDE, if it’s like this being the mother of the groom???

The Adorable Fiancee loves the color Tiffany Blue. Yep, there’s a woman who knows her own mind. So there was no surprise at the wedding invitations for The Geeky One and The Adorable Fiancee…
These are just. so. her. (and I raised my son to know enough not to disagree with a woman picking the wedding invitations.)
Too cute, with the hint of damask on the band, huh? Then on the left side they had the RSVP card and a card with info about the wedding location and their wedding website. (My son’s nickname IS The Geeky One, you know!)
They are just too cute, aren’t they? When I got married, wedding invitations were cream or white, engraved or embossed. Blah, blah. Wedding invitations can be so creative now! I love it!
I was not the first one to RSVP, because I had to grab photos for this blog post. :rofl: It rained and was gray for days. I wanted filtered warm light to take the photos. Finally gave up and took them with the light I had. I’m waiting for it to sun up here in St. Louis just any. day. now.
Though if it wants to rain now to get it out of its system so it’s nice and sunny for the wedding and the rehearsal…I’m good with that! :clap:
