Weird Stuff

by Kay~Kacey on 5/25/2005

So, do you think that there’s anything to throwing your hopes and dreams out into the universe and attracting what you need back to you? Do you believe in synchronicity? Do you do affirmations about your writing or your life? Make up a poster with pictures representing what you want out of your life? Have you done a mock up of a cover for a book with your name on it? Do you have a lucky rock? Sweater? Shoes?

What’s your best kind of “out there” thing that you’ve done regarding your writing or what you want out of life? Those of you firmly entrenched in reality and annoyed by anything woowoo…feel free to ignore 😉

I haven’t done a poster (though that’s a great idea!) but I’ve done everything else you mentioned. I’m totally into affirmations of all kinds!!

I’d say making a website was the best “out there” thing I’ve done as an affirmation. It actually has translated into much more confidence for myself. We’ll see if it works!

The very first time I got a request for a complete I was making chipped beef on toast for lunch – yes, the infamous SOS. Now, when I feel mortally stressed for a request, I make it again..sometimes it works.

I’m afraid of karma, so I try not to do mean stuff because I’m afraid it’ll come back to me.

Hmm yeah, having a website and then creating WriteMinded was a leap of faith. I mean how silly will it look if I NEVER get pubbed 😯

I believe in synchronicity. Life is chorographed, and a positive attitude can make one heck of a difference.:lips:

I’ve done affirmations, though I’m afraid I’ve slacked off a lot this year. 😐

I fully believe in affirmations. I’ve barely started a poster of how I want my life to be (Sharon, stop laughing at me.) I don’t have any lucky items though. Maybe I better find one.

so…this inspired me to start cutting out pictures and words for a poster. A positive affirmation of my writing. It was kind of fun. You know, playing with scissors. I’ll take a picture of it when I finish. Must find some neater magazines to cut up…

I’m a big believer in karma and in ‘signs’ so I’m always on the lookout for anything that will point me in the right writing directions. Make sure you put up a picture of your poster!

I believe in affirmation of all kinds. I have a goal list I constantly refer to. I am forever mentally telling myself I can do it.

The first REAL BIG THING for me, that I did, was to write “Writer” as the occupation on my library card. Small but effective.
I also have a “click” so to speak. When I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing, I get a “click”. It’s the feeling of rightness I have. I don’t know how else to describe it.
I don’t have lucky items, but I have things on my desk from my children. It centers me.
Grins*
