Rambling Road Trip Thoughts

by Kay~Kacey on 4/19/2011

highway 70 Missouri

I spend a lot of time these days looking at this sight. Over and over again as we drive back and forth from Columbia. Sometimes I amuse myself by taking photos. But I’ve shot all the really cool things along the road. Like the bull. And the waving guy. ™.

water towers

So sometimes I’ll pick a new subject and shoot it. Like water towers. This one is in Kingdom City…not City Kingdom…bad angle…

New Florence water tower

But there are only so many water towers between St. Louis and Columbia…besides sometimes I have the attention span of a gnat… (I should have cloned out the wires…)

Calaway Nuclear Plant

So I tried to grab a photo of the Calaway Nuclear Plant…though I had on my wide angle and was too lazy to switch to my longer lens. So, you can see it really tiny in this photo–on the left–with the steam coming up from the cooling tower. Okay, that was fun, now let’s shoot something else. (attention span thing again…)

trees by the road

There’s always the trees by the side of the road…

tree farm

Or, look, the Tree Farm. ™ We’re pretty sure it’s for sale if anyone is looking to buy a tree farm in Missouri…

Sigh. We need to find some different ways to drive to Columbia…

Pure Evil

These are pure evil.

reeses mini chocolates

SuperGuy came home with these. I think I hate him. These are SO good. No messing with unwrapping them like the regular Reeses. Just straight for the chocolate.

mini chocolates

I am a weak woman. I couldn’t stop eating them. I made SuperGuy hide them from me.

reeses minis

Then when he left, I searched the house and found them…They are evil, I tell you. Pure evil. That is all.

Life in Focus – Pansies

by Kay~Kacey on 4/13/2011

colorful pansies

β€œThe beauteous pansies rise In purple, gold, and blue,
With tints of rainbow hue
Mocking the sunset skies.”
~Thomas John Ouseley

I love pansies. They are such a nice splash of color in early spring and last into the beginning heat of summer. So many colors. So bright. Such a marvelous chase-away-the-end-of-winter flower.
