Finally had a bit of time to do some more decorating of the new house. We usually call it just “the nest”…but haven’t named it officially yet. Are we the only ones who name their homes? Anyway…a few photos of what I’ve done.
On top of the china cabinet that I got for my food photography props, I put a fine art print of my beloved lilac that finally bloomed last year, along with a milk glass lamp and antique cameras. Makes me smile every time I look at it.
We finally hung our series of drink photos that we had over at The Love Nest. Same drink photos, same order, over the same bar 😉
In the stairwell I put my series of photos of Michael and Lauren, along with a photo of my folks and a vase of corks and a few other knick knacks.
A print wrap of Matthew and Steph from their wedding. Haven’t ordered prints from Michael’s wedding yet. I’m planning on getting a 10 x 20 of them to put up side by side with this one.
Some of my portrait work I put up above my closet in my office…we’ll see if they stay up there or fall down…
I got a few of my fine art prints printed and placed them around the house too. This one is available on my fine art artist website.
I also printed this cardinal in the snow photo which I love…and it has some of my teal tones in it too! Win, win. Of course I have a mason jar on my mantel. I have mason jars tucked all over our home. I love them.
I found this antique tea cart for my office and put some of my grandmother’s china on it along with that pretty pink flower print.
I use the tea cart for some of my set ups when I’m doing still life shots. It’s so easy to move around to wherever the light is good in the house at the time.

Welcome to twenty-thirteen! (wonder how long it will take me to remember to actually write 2013 instead of 2012?). I was going to do a round up of my favorite photos of 2012…but I just haven’t gotten that post finished yet. So…
I thought I’d amuse you with some of the little details of the new house that I really love…some are so silly to love this much…but that’s how I roll.
These are the knobs on my kitchen cabinets. Don’t you love them? Â SuperGuy let me get away with choosing these pretty knobs.
This ledge in the stairway to the lower level? How do I love it? Let me count the ways. The big window with lots of light. The cute oil rubbed bronze rods for the railing. The way you can see my front porch through the window. The fabulous shelf/ledge that I can decorate according to my whim. Love. It.
Right now it has this adorable vase filled with wine corks, my favorite glass paperweight, and a lighted box.
Oh, and this cute wine cork holder that my sister gave us for a housewarming gift. See the chalkboard on it?? So cute!
Okay, and you’ll laugh at this last one…but gosh darn it, I LOVE it! I have this push button for my garbage disposal! LOL, I know, but I love it!! It makes me smile every time I Â push it!
Okay, I guess I’m just easily amused… Do you have some little detail in your house that you adore and makes you smile?

There is a bit of Christmas cheer at our new house…
Pretty red flowers scattered around the house. Well, in a lot of places.
A mantle with just a few decorations.
A light up ceramic Christmas tree that my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl. Missing some bulbs, but still delicate and beautiful and loved.
A lighted glass block that SuperGuy made for me a few years back. So pretty.
Red flowers brightening our kitchen with a wisp of Christmas cheer.
