This is the land behind The Love Nest…after they stripped it to put in a sewer system…and did nothing to reforest the area. But we’re assured we’re not on a flood plain… You can see the creek in the far background, and this fork that comes off of it in front. Then this mess of a flooded area…
This is a FORK of the creek that runs behind our house…
Yep, I’m not feeling the love about the whole “not in a flood plain.” This was a heavy storm, but not in even close to the heaviest. storm. ever. I’m a bit worried…

So excited! We decided to stay over in Columbia last Friday night…and since the weather had been GORGEOUS and I had complained mentioned that it sucked was too bad that we didn’t have patio furniture. I’m sure I mentioned it just a few times. WE decide to go get some patio furniture! Fun. Unfortunately, by the time we bought it, unboxed it, and put it together? The temperature had dropped. Alot. So…
Never let it be said we don’t know how to have a good time…no matter what the weather…
(What, don’t all of you put your new patio furniture inside by the fire and have happy hour???)
Yep, the horrible screen-saver-blue room at the Love Nest? It’s gone. Bit the dust.
Note to self…be conveniently gone the next time we have a brightly colored room to repaint into a soft cream color. Just saying.
Two coats of primer…and still the blue showed through. :wallbash:
So we painted it a nice, warm cream color. Going to go with a beachy theme in that room with a few pops of teal as accents. Some beach photos on the walls. It’s going to be lovely. No, I didn’t take photos of the finished paint job because I’m waiting to get the bedspread on the bed and pretty the room up a bit. I have a cute worn blue teal wooden chair we’re going to put in there, and I think I’ll paint a bed table teal.
Anyway, the best part of the two day paint job? The end of it…
A nice quiet champagne celebration for two by the fire.
