Trash Guys vs Kacey

by Kay~Kacey on 1/29/2008

If you’ve been tuning in, you know we’ve been having a bit of trouble with our trash guys. We started with putting out two old cabinets that had gotten warped and moldy from a flooded basement. So we put them out, and the trash men didn’t take them.

Okay, so anyway, maybe the cabinets were too big…but they weren’t any bigger than a trash can, and light weight. So for the next week, my dh, MrFixIt, knocks the cabinets apart and puts them out at the street for the trash pickup. All in a neat little stack. Nope, trash guys didn’t take them that week either.

So, in one more attempt my dh– SuperGuy by this point– put the chopped up into LITTLE DARN PIECES in a trash can. See?

Stayed tuned for the news after trash pick up time today! Hopefully, the last installment on how we got rid of the old, moldy, warped cabinets.

edited to add: see the end of the TRASH GUYS STORY here.

Kacey,

I’m keeping my fingers crossed, and I WILL stay tuned!

Hahahaha…I wonder why they’re not picking them up? Bizarre!

Why am I picturing your DH with a chipper machine shredding up the wood and putting it in a big plastic trash bag next? :mad2:

Ah, urban trash wars. The memories . . . . Is there a rule about construction and remodeling materials?

Kacey January 29, 2008 at 12:00 pm

Amy 1 , keep those fingers crossed!

Melissa…they aren’t picking them up because they want to anger me? They are passive aggressive? Um, I’m running out of reasons…

Amy 2 , yep, a chipper machine is next. Or more likely, he’ll change trash service companies! :mad2:

Laura, nope, no rules on construction stuff. Just yard waste. Like once I threw a dead obvious center piece of flowers on top of the trash. They didn’t take that trash can. Yard waste, don’t you know… 🙄

Could you fit those pieces in a trash bag now?

Good luck!! It took us 3 weeks to get a folding table table top picked up. No legs… just the top part. 3 weeks. :wallbash: Finally it got picked up today!! YAY!
